We the People, in seeking Redress of Grievances, as is our right under Amendment I of the United States Constitution, ask this question of each branch of Federal Government:
“Where in the Constitution do you find authorization for each and all of the following?”
1. The redistribution of property by force and subterfuge; and the unequal application of tax laws amounting to punitive action against certain groups of American People and providing favored status to other groups
2. A paper money system that is morally and economically equivalent to counterfeiting
3. Willful and purposeful devaluation and destruction of American currency
4. Deploying military to fight undeclared wars
5. Targeting and labeling law-abiding American citizens as domestic terrorists
6. Declarations that disagreeing with policy is unpatriotic or disloyal to our
country
7. Intrusions into the privacy of law-abiding American citizens
8. Perpetual massive indebtedness to foreign countries
9. Infringement upon the rights of the People to keep and bear arms through oppressive regulation and taxation designed for the very purpose of infringement
10. Passing laws and taxes without deliberation and without reading the legislation; said action is tantamount to the American People not having any representation
11. Enacting ex post facto laws and Bills of Attainder
12. Granting Constitutional rights and privileges to illegal aliens and prisoners of war
13. Funding mercenary organizations that engage in voter fraud and paid harassment of law abiding American citizens
14. Maintaining and deploying armies in peace time on United States soil
15. Unprecedented and arbitrary federal power, through the United States Treasury, for government intervention into, control of, and confiscation of, private property, private industry including but not limited to banking, insurance, manufacturing, farming and other sectors of the private economy (current and proposed)
16. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law (proposed)
17. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service of persons under the age of 18 other than pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law (proposed)
18. Acts regarding religion; further limitations on freedom of political speech; or further limitations on freedom of the press (proposed)

Layoffs. Don't we wish we could layoff our own government?!
Here is an email that I received from a friend. This is kind of funny, but tells a whole lot of truth.
LETTER FROM THE BOSS:
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that
Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will
increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would
have to increase by about 10%.
But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of
the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead. This has really
been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to
choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama'
bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the
ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem.
They voted for change, I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

CDC ALERT!
An email I received from a friend...ALERT!!!
"The Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically.
This virus is called Weekly Overload Recreational Killer (WORK).
If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! This virus will wipe out your private life entirely. If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises.
Take two good friends to the nearest liquor store and purchase one or both of the antidotes - Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.
You should immediately forward this medical alert to five friends. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is, sadly, controlling your life. Get help immediately."

North Korean Taepodong-2 Missile On Launch Pad.
U.S. official indicates North Korea missile is on pad Reuters
Wed Mar 25, 2009 12:22pm EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. official did not dispute on Wednesday a Japanese media report that North Korea has positioned what is believed to be a Taepodong-2 long-range ballistic missile on a launch pad at its Musudanri facility.
"I'm not going to steer you away from what's been reported," said a U.S. counterproliferation official. The official referred to a report by Kyodo news agency which cited "sources close to Japan-U.S. relations."

Frank Jannuzi, a staff member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, has urged President Barack Obama's administration not to overreact to a North Korean missile test, expected in early April.
In a seminar organized by the conservative Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., March 23, he advised reviving missile talks with North Korea in a bid to solve the issue.
The secretive state told international organizations on aviation early this month that it will launch a ``satellite'' into orbit between April 4 and 8, but the outside world has not ruled out the possibility of it testing a long-range missile.
``Overreaction would be shooting down the missile, taking out the missile from the launch pad, or suspending and terminating the six-party talks,'' he said.
He continued, ``If North Korea would not deploy, would not export, would not produce long-range missiles, it's cheaper than keeping an aircraft carrier to shoot it down, cheaper than keeping national missile defense in Alaska.''
The North's long-range Taepodong-2 missile is theoretically capable of reaching Alaska and Hawaii.
Jannuzi, who served as a key foreign policy adviser for the Obama election team last year, suggested troubleshooting via the resumption of dialogue.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also talked about the ``need to have a conversation about missiles'' with the North.
Missile talks were suspended after former President Bill Clinton withdrew an offer to visit Pyongyang to conclude missile and nuclear talks in 2000.
Recalling Obama's pledge to impose sanctions against North Korea again if it does not implement obligations, the planned missile launch would be a test for the new administration, Jannuzi said.

U.S. commanders say ready for N.Korea missile Reuters

By Paul Eckert, Asia Correspondent
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States could intercept a North Korean missile launched toward U.S. territory with "high probability," the top U.S. commander for the Pacific region said on Thursday.
Speaking to a U.S. panel amid North Korean preparations for what Pyongyang has said will be a satellite launch in early April, U.S. Pacific Commander Timothy Keating and other senior officers stressed American capabilities without revealing intentions.
"We have a high probability," Keating, a U.S. Navy admiral, told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing when asked if U.S. forces could intercept a missile from North Korea.
North Korea has said it intends to launch a communications satellite between April 4 and 8, asserting it has the right to do so under its space program. Washington and its allies in Asia see the plan as a disguised long-range missile test.
The North's Taepodong-2 has a range that could take it to Alaska. But analysts do not expect the United States to intercept the rocket, a move Pyongyang has said it would consider an act of war.
Air Force General Kevin Chilton, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, said the missile defense system the United States has been testing and partially deploying over the past decade was "ahead of North Korean capabilities."
"In the limited deployment capabilities that we have out today for the system, it is adequate to defend against what we believe the North Koreans could potentially put forward as a threat today," he told the hearing.
The United States, South Korea and Japan have said they see no difference between a satellite launch and a missile test.
"Even if there is a satellite launch on this, as the North Koreans just said it will be, it will help the technology of long-range missiles," Chilton added.
Japan's Kyodo news agency reported on Wednesday that Tokyo was clearing the way for the deployment of ballistic missile interceptors. North Korea stunned Tokyo with the launch of a rocket in 1998 that flew over Japan before dropping into the Pacific Ocean.
North Korea has said the first stage of the rocket would splash down in the Sea of Japan, while the second would land in the Pacific.
Army General Walter Sharp, commander of U.S. Forces in Korea, said the missile threat is serious because North Korea tested a nuclear bomb in 2006. Proliferation is also a worry, because the government of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il sells missiles to support itself, he said.
A successful Taepodong-2 launch would go a long way toward "helping him proliferate that to other countries around the world and to be able to get cash back in order to put it back into regime survival," Sharp told the panel.
The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency said on Tuesday it had completed a successful intercept test at a range in Hawaai of a mobile system designed to intercept short to medium range ballistic missiles.

Globalization of the Monetary System
Sure, everyone has heard of conspiracy theories about the world government becoming a One World Order, or a New World Order. Today, while watching the AIG hearings with Bernanke and Geithner being questioned by various representatives, it hit me. These may not actually be conspiracy theories after all. So, I decided to research the situtation further, based on the questioning by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) of Minnesota.
Michele Bachmann questioned both Bernanke and Geithner about whether we (the U.S.) is joinning China, Russia, and Kazakhstan at the G20 Summit (in London on April 2, 2009) in pushing for a global monetary conversion, dropping the dollar as currency, changing to an international monetary standard. Of course, they both categorically denied that the U.S. was doing any such thing. However, I reviewed their comments on my DVR several times and noticed a fidgeting and pause in their voices, as well as a surprise to their expression, as if she shouldn't actually be asking such questions.
In researching the G20 information, I found a plethora of information stating the opposite of what Bernanke and Geithner stated, categorically denying the global monetary push.
First, what is the G20? The G20 is The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors that was established in 1999. They meet to discuss issues with the global economy. The member countries are listed on Wikipedia.
When reading what the G20 London Summit 2009 is focusing on, I found the following statements rather interesting and enlightening on the subject of a global monetary standard.
"The world’s leading economies can come together and lay the foundations not just for a sustainable economic recovery, but also for a new era of international economic partnership where all countries have a part to play and all see the benefits." [bold and italics added]
"The key global accounting standards bodies should work intensively toward the objective of creating a single high-quality global standard." [bold and italics added]
"...coordinating regulation of global financial markets in order to create a global financial sector that serves the needs of the wider economy" [bold and italics added]
What do you think about the globalization of the monetary system?

A taxing lesson.
Here's an email I received from a friend.
************************************************************************************
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes
to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something
like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and
seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a
curve.
"Since you are all such good customers", he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost
of your daily beer by $20". Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first
four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the
other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so
that everyone would get his "fair share?"
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from
everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being
paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to
reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out
the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to
drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their
savings.
"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the
tenth man, "but he got $10!"
"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's
unfair that he got ten times more than I!"
"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got
only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"
"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at
all. The system exploits the poor!"
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and
had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered
something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even
half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax
system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a
tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just
may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the
atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Association.
What is in an association? Everything!
Today, as I sat listening during Stake Conference (a religious meeting with multiple wards that are located within certain boundaries), I realized how many wonderful people I have the privilege of being associated with. This Stake Conference was rather large, broadcast in 10 buildings throughout my little city. The growth here has been amazing and the LDS activity level is extremely high, unlike many other areas in Utah. We already had two stakes in our city, but because we have experienced such growth, we now have three (after today's meeting).
I am so thrilled that The Lord has called the person who is now the new stake's president. I have had the privilege of being associated with him through various city volunteer activities and he is the genuine deal. He behaves in such a way that he doesn't compromise his standards in any situation. I appreciate that very much! Especially since I've been running into some railroading attempts by members of my own city government against my efforts (which are all volunteer, by the way) and yet they profess to be LDS. It has been disappointing to be involved with people that don't live according to the standards they profess to believe (which happens in every religion).
Through the last year of volunteer work that I have been blessed to be involved with in my community, I've found that there are some amazing people! Whenever I have a disappointing day where I have encounters with those who are not so impressive (which doesn't happen very often) I find that there are so many absolutely wonderful people all around me. I feel truly blessed!
"As part of His plan, God has followed a simple pattern from the beginning of the world. He chooses a prophet (like Noah or Moses) to teach the gospel and lead the people. Sadly, most of God’s children have disregarded, disobeyed, and rejected His prophets.
As promised, Heavenly Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth. Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life. He established His Church, taught His gospel, and performed many miracles. Incredibly, even Jesus Christ was rejected. Following His death, many people began to drift away from or distort Christ’s true teachings. As a result, God withdrew His authority to direct the Church that Christ had established." -- Mormon.org

Obama's Blunders on the Tonight Show.
Even Jay Leno knew not to make a comment about Special Olympics! Did President Obama know not to make a comment about a group of people of the United States of America? Take a look and see for yourself.
Will Obama actually keep a promise and actually get a dog for his girls? Or will this be another in a long string of campaign promises that are broken? It remains to be seen. Take a look at his comments from last night on the Tonight Show.

AIG Rage or Just a Diversion?
Do you think that the government is corrupt and that it all changed when Obama entered office? Think again. Sure, the situation has gotten worse, but the housing crisis started during Clinton's years and has had oversight through Barney Frank, encouragement through Barney Frank, and now Barney Frank is answering the American taxpayer's frustration and outrage over the AIG bonuses but is not addressing the whole housing issue that started with him. Barney Frank is the chairman of the Committee on Financial Services (or House Banking Committee). Here is what he is over.
overseeing the entire financial services industry including
securities
insurance
banking
housing industries
Federal Reserve
Department of the Treasury
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
etc.
Along with Frank, Christopher Dodd is the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, which deals with the following:
banks and banking
price controls
deposit insurance
export promotion and controls
federal monetary policy
financial aid to commerce and industry
issuance of redemption notes
currency and coinage
public and private housing
urban development and mass transit
government contracts
Here's an interesting list for you. It's a partial list of what AIG ($165 million in bonuses) did with their bailout money...can we say "money laundering"?
What taxpayer money did AIG give and to whom?
Goldman Sacs - $13 Billion
Merrel Lynch - $7 Billion
Bank of America - $5 Billion
United Kingdom - $13 Billion
Germany - $17 Billion
France - $19 Billion
Switzerland - $5 Billion
Note: 1. About $44 Billion went to America/American companies.
2. About $62 Billion went overseas/other countries/banks in other countries.
Do you want to know why they continue to harp on the $165 Million in bonuses? Because they don't want you to pay attention to the fact that our tax money has actually gone overseas instead of "stimulating" our own economy. Is the $165 million as big of a deal after you have seen this breakdown? Not really. Plus, do we want to lose the ability to make and keep contracts without the Federal Government interfering?
Don't get me started on this issue because it shows how our government is corrupt, laundering money, destroying the constitution, and so on. Oh, and by-the-way, shouldn't there be a term limit? Both Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd have been in office since 1981.
Additionally, there seems to be a never ending chain of corruption and greed that loops its way through Washington. Not only does the greed show its way in the Committee on Financial Services and the Senate Banking Committee, but also the Committee of Ways and Means, which is chaired by Charles Rangel (elected in 1971). Here is a list of what that committee is involved in:
all taxation, tariffs and other revenue-raising measures
Social Security
unemployment benefits
Medicare
enforcement of child support laws
temporary assistance for needy families (federal welfare)
foster care and adoption programs
Do you see a list of the "stimulus" in the bailout/spending bills?
It doesn't end there either. Nancy Pelosi, one of my favorite people as you may have read (who assumed office in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1987), served on the Appropriations Committee. Here is the "constitutional basis for the Appropriations Committee comes from Article one, Section nine, Clause seven of the U.S. Constitution, which states that:
No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.
This clearly delegated the power of appropriating money to Congress, but was vague beyond that." Wikipedia
As one of the most powerful committees, its members are seen as influential and have the power to control the federal purse strings.
"how well the member secures rewards for his or her district is one of the best indicators as to whether or not he or she will be reelected. One way to achieve popularity in one's district is to bring it federal spending, thus creating jobs and raising economic performance. This type of spending is often derided by critics as pork barrel spending, while those who engage in it generally defend it as necessary and appropriate expenditure of government funds. The members of the Appropriations committee can do this better than most, and as such the appointment is regarded as a plus. This help can also be directed towards other members, increasing the stature of committee members in the House and helping them gain support for leadership positions or other honors." This essentially is why the spending bill had around 9,000 earmarks...those who placed those earmarks want to do so to be re-elected. Isn't that insane?!!!
Who is the current chair for this committee? David Ross Obey.
I'm sure that this post could go on for days with the information I've researched but one thing is clear...too much power, too little reality, too many committees, too little accountability, too much insanity!

Who is Monitoring the Monitors?
Does anyone reading this wish they got a giant bonus at the end of the year? Do you wish you had a contract that meant that you would receive a $100,000 bonus? Of course you do. And you would care about doing a good job...the right job if you had a contract for that dollar figure wouldn't you?!
Well, yesterday my husband was laid-off and my twenty cents a day from this blog isn't going to put food on our table. Not to give a sob story but I look at what the bonuses are for these people for the FAILING part of AIG and I just have to shake my head and go "huh?". What is wrong with this system? One big thing...it's part of the system.
Note: Our information is listed below. If you can consider us for opportunities that you see out there, please contact us on our LinkedIn accounts.

Sure, it is reported that a Republican Senator suggested that "AIG’s executives should resign or commit ritual suicide in shame over the bonus payments", but that doesn't mean that the contract wasn't already there for them to receive the bonuses in the first place. Where did the contract come from? Well, since we bailed them out...us.
Who is monitoring the monitors? I guess it us up to us to do that job.
What have you done in your spare time today? Watch TV? Play solitaire on the computer? Volunteer your time to your community or to your country?
If it wasn't the later, rethink what you are doing. It has to start somewhere and it has to start with you and I.

Political Corruption Defined.
Political Corruption:
"Political corruption is the use of governmental powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. Misuse of government power for other purposes, such as repression of political opponents and general police brutality, is not considered political corruption. Neither are illegal acts by private persons or corporations not directly involved with the government. An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties.
All forms of government are susceptible to political corruption. Forms of corruption vary, but include bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. While corruption may facilitate criminal enterprise such as drug trafficking, money laundering, and trafficking, it is not restricted to these organized crime activities. In some nations, corruption is so common that it is expected when ordinary businesses or citizens interact with government officials. The end point of political corruption is a kleptocracy, literally "rule by thieves".
The activities that constitute illegal corruption differ depending on the country or jurisdiction. Certain political funding practices that are legal in one place may be illegal in another. In some countries, government officials have broad or poorly defined powers, and the line between what is legal and illegal can be difficult to draw.
Bribery around the world is estimated at about $1 trillion (£494bn), and the burden of corruption falls disproportionately on the bottom billion people living in extreme poverty" Wikipedia
Cronyism:
"Cronyism is partiality to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority, regardless of their qualifications.
Cronyism exists when the appointer and the beneficiary are in social contact; often, the appointer is inadequate to hold his or her own job or position of authority, and for this reason the appointer appoints individuals who will not try to weaken him or her, or express views contrary to those of the appointer.
The economic and social costs of cronyism are paid by society. In the form of reduced business opportunity for the majority of the population, reduced competition in the market place, inflated consumer goods prices, decreased economic performance, inefficient business investment cycles, reduced motivation in affected organizations, and the diminution of economically productive activity. A practical cost of cronyism is manifest in the bad workmanship of public and private community projects. Cronyism is self-generating, cronyism then begets a culture of cronyism. This can only be apprehended by a comprehensive, effective, and enforced legal code, and empowered government agencies who can effect prosecutions in the courts." Wikipedia
Corruption:
"Corruption is essentially termed as an "impairment of integrity, virtue or moral principle; depravity, decay, and/or an inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means, a departure from the original or from what is pure or correct, and/or an agency or influence that corrupts."[1]
Corruption, when applied as a technical term, is a general concept describing any organized, interdependent system in which part of the system is either not performing duties it was originally intended to, or performing them in an improper way, to the detriment of the system's original purpose." If you are under the impression that corruption and cronyism don't happen at your local level, think again. Get involved in your government so that there will be less corruption and cronyism. Stand up for your rights as a citizen of your city, state and country.

Obama Signs 'Imperfect' Spending Bill, Announces Earmark Reforms
The president did not make any pledge to eliminate earmarks or reduce them. Rather, he and House Democrats announced new reforms to subject them to greater scrutiny and transparency.
Fox News Wednesday, March 11, 2009
President Obama on Wednesday signed a $410 billion spending bill to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year, despite complaints that the package was filled with thousands of earmarks. [bold and italics added]
The president earlier defended the bill, which he called "imperfect" but necessary. But at the same time he announced new reforms he said would prevent wasteful earmarks in the future.
The president did not make any pledge to eliminate earmarks or reduce them. Rather, he and House Democrats announced new reforms to subject them to greater scrutiny and transparency.
"Done right, earmarks have given legislators the opportunity to direct federal money to worthy projects that benefit people in their district, and that's why I have opposed their outright elimination," Obama said. "But the fact is that on occasion, earmarks have been used as a vehicle for waste, and fraud and abuse. Projects have been inserted at the 11th hour, without review, and sometimes without merit, in order to satisfy the political or personal agendas of a given legislator, rather than the public interest." [bold and italics added]
Obama said the reforms would require lawmakers seeking earmarks to post them on their Web sites in advance, so the public and press can review them. He said each earmark should be "open to scrutiny" at public hearings.
"If my administration evaluates an earmark and determines that it has no legitimate public purpose, we will seek to eliminate it," Obama said.
He also said all earmarks for for-profit companies should be subject to competitive bidding requirements.
"The awarding of earmarks to private companies is the single most corrupting element of this practice," Obama said.
The announcement came after Congress passed the $410 billion spending package Tuesday night. Taxpayers for Common Sense estimated the package contained 8,570 disclosed earmarks worth $7.7 billion. [bold and italics added]
"I am signing an imperfect omnibus bill because it's necessary for the ongoing functions of government," Obama said, adding that he would use it as a "departure point" for enacting new reforms.
He did not respond to a question asking why was not signing the spending bill in public. [bold and italics added]
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who opposed the earmarks in the bill, criticized his former election opponent Wednesday for not pledging to "use his veto pen" to stop pork-barrel projects.
"The president's rhetoric is impressive, but his statement affirms we will continue to do business as usual in Washington regarding earmarks in appropriations legislation," he said in a written statement. "This is an opportunity missed."
The 1,132-page bill has an extraordinary reach, wrapping together nine spending bills to fund the annual operating budgets of every Cabinet department except Defense, Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs. Among the many earmarks are $485,000 for a boarding school for at-risk native students in western Alaska and $1.2 million for Helen Keller International so the nonprofit can provide eyeglasses to students with poor vision.
Most of the government has been running on a stopgap funding bill set to expire at midnight Wednesday. Refusing to sign the newly completed spending bill would force Congress to pass another bill to keep the lights on come Thursday or else shut down the massive federal government.
The $410 billion bill includes significant increases in food aid for the poor, energy research and other programs. It was supposed to have been completed last fall, but Democrats opted against election-year battles with Republicans and former President George W. Bush. [bold and italics added]
The measure was a top priority for Democratic leaders, who praised it for numerous increases denied by Bush. It once enjoyed support from Republicans. [bold and italics added]
But the bill ran into an unexpected political hailstorm in Congress after Obama's spending-heavy economic stimulus bill and his 2010 budget plan, which forecast a $1.8 trillion deficit for the current budget year.
The bill's big increases -- among them a 14 percent boost for a popular program that feeds infants and poor women and a 10 percent increase for housing vouchers for the poor -- represent a clear win for Democrats who spent most of the past decade battling with Bush over money for domestic programs. Republicans, though, had called on Obama to veto the measure. [bold and italics added]

A Reality Check for Nancy Pelosi.
Is the Air Force an on-call airline for personal use by Nancy Pelosi?
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, has obtained documents from the Department of Defense (D.O.D.) through the Freedom of Information Act. These documents include email correspondence by the DOD staff to accommodate Nancy Pelosi's repeated requests for military travel, as well as cancellations and changes that happened at the last minute.
Essentially, Pelosi was reserving planes, placed on stand-by every weekend and then cancelling them, oftentimes at the last minute.
Now, since Nancy Pelosi is two heartbeats away from the Presidency of the United States of America, the American people do not want to see her without the proper protection in her transportation needs. However, we do not want to see taxpayer dollars wasted and the system abused by someone in Washington.
Again, this is an instance in which one of our Washington law makers is living in the reality that we are working for them, not the other way around.

One DOD official complained about the "hidden costs" associated with the speaker's last minute changes and cancellations. "We have...folks prepping the jets and crews driving in (not a short drive for some), cooking meals and preflighting the jets etc."
The documents also detail correspondence from intermediaries for Speaker Pelosi issuing demands for certain aircraft and expressing outrage when requested military planes were not available. "It is my understanding there are no G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable...The speaker will want to know where the planes are..." wrote Kay King, Director of the House Office of Interparliamentary Affairs. In a separate email, when told a certain type of aircraft would not be available, King writes, "This is not good news, and we will have some very disappointed folks, as well as a very upset [s]peaker."

Don’t Be Fooled, Obama Plans to Raise Everyone’s Taxes“Stuff the beast!”
…is extremely committed to entitlement reform and is plotting politically feasible ways to reduce Social Security as well as health spending. The White House folks didn’t say this, but I got the impression they’d be willing to raise taxes on the bottom 95 percent of earners as part of an overall package.”
There you have it: We already knew that Obama wants to raise taxes, substantially, on the top 5 percent of earners. And now we know that he and his people want to raise taxes on 100 percent of us.
That’s stuffing the beast–with your tax dollars. For more information CLICK HERE

OBAMA: All right. Major Garrett, where's Major?
GARRETT: Mr. President, at a speech Friday that many of us covered, Vice President Biden said the following thing about a conversation the two of you had in the Oval Office about a subject he didn't disclose.
"If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, if we stand up there and we really make the tough decisions, there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong."
Since the vice president brought it up, can you tell the American people, sir, what you were talking about? And if not, can you at least reassure them it wasn't the stimulus bill or the bank rescue plan and if, in general, you agree with that ratio of success, 30 percent failure, 70 percent success?
OBAMA: You know, I don't remember exactly what Joe was referring to...

Clinton Goofs on Russian Translation, Tells Diplomat She Wants to 'Overcharge' Ties
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gives Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a gift bearing an incorrect translation -- one that implies hostility, rather than peacemaking.
FOXNews.com - Friday, March 06, 2009
Note to self: When trying to improve ties with a former Cold War-era foe, check a dictionary.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton learned that lesson the hard way Friday when she presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a gift bearing an incorrect translation -- one that implied hostility, rather than peacemaking.
Clinton presented Lavrov with a gift-wrapped red button, which said "Reset" in English and "Peregruzka" in Russian. The problem was, "peregruzka" doesn't mean reset. It means overcharged, or overloaded. For more information CLICK HERE

Jobless rate is higher but if you want a job you will find one.
Jobless Rate Soars to 8.1 Percent, Highest Since 1983
The Labor Department's report shows America's workers being clobbered by a relentless wave of layoffs.
AP
Friday, March 06, 2009
WASHINGTON -- The government says the nation's unemployment rate bolted to 8.1 percent in February, the highest since late 1983, as cost-cutting employers slashed 651,000 jobs.
The Labor Department's report shows America's workers being clobbered by a relentless wave of layoffs.
The net loss of 651,000 jobs in February came after even deeper payroll reductions in the prior two months, according to revised figures. The economy lost 681,000 jobs in December and another 655,000 in January. -- For more information, CLICK HERE
GOP Forces Senate to Delay Vote on $410B Spending Bill
Senate Democratic leaders are working furiously behind the scenes to gather up 60 votes to pass a $410 billion spending bill that funds the government through September.

Senate Democratic leaders are still coming up short as they work furiously behind the scenes to gather up 60 votes to pass a $410 billion spending bill that funds the government through September.
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said Thursday night that he was one vote short of the votes needed despite calling Senate Appropriations Committee Republicans to try to secure support from about six of them. A vote had been scheduled for Thursday evening, but now the bill is on hold at least until Monday, meaning that for now most government departments will have to continue operating at 2008 spending levels. -- For more information CLICK HERE
To find a job, ignore doom-and-gloom news, experts say
By John D. Sutter
(CNN) -- If you're unemployed, you know it's a rough time to be on the job hunt.
There's a huge pool of unemployed workers out there, and the unemployment rate continues to climb.
But if you want work, you need to block out the doom-and-gloom news about the economy, particularly this Friday's federal jobs report, said John A. Challenger, chief executive office of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, a prestigious job-placement and consulting organization.
"Don't listen to it," he said. "It's not relevant to any one person's search."
His advice: Go look for a job, any job -- now.
"You have to get a fast start, and you have to stay at it in this kind of market, because there are more people searching for fewer jobs," he said. "So you cannot let up."
But before you drop the laptop to go photocopy résumés, it may help to target your job search to certain industries or locations.
It's generally agreed that there are more jobs available in health care, education, government and agriculture than in other industries. Those jobs are also thought to be more stable than those in failing industries like banking, manufacturing and construction. iReport.com: Tell us how your job hunt is going
Applicants should market their skills to the stable industries, no matter what profession they're coming from, said Jennifer Grasz, a spokeswoman for CareerBuilder.com, the nation's largest job listing Web site.
To get the jobs, applicants should be flexible, Challenger said. -- For more information CLICK HERE
South has jobs available
By Lisa Respers France
(CNN) -- While most parts of the country grapple with massive job loss and a deficit in new jobs, the South is faring a bit better.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in December the South recorded one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country at 7 percent.
According to Careerbuilder.com, the nation's largest online job site, the South continues to see growth in the oil and gas industries which means more job opportunities in related fields like engineering. For more information CLICK HERE
Sun, sea, casinos and Japan bring jobs to West
By Jessica Ravitz
(CNN) -- With the West posting the highest regional rate of unemployment, at 8 percent, according to the latest government figures, people living there are hurting to find employers willing to take them in.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in January, after crunching December 2008 numbers, a 2.9 percent regional bump in unemployment from the same time in 2007.
California, in the last month of 2008 alone, lost more than 78,000 jobs, outpacing any other state.
But while California, Nevada and Oregon posted jobless figures, respectively, of 9.3, 9.1 and 9.0 percent, other Western states appeared more stable. Wyoming's latest figure of 3.4 percent unemployment was better than any other in the nation, and Utah came in at No. 5, with an enviable rate of 4.3 percent.
Affiliates working with CNN, meantime, are looking out for signs of promise -- giving viewers and readers insights into where some of the jobs are. -- For more information CLICK HERE
Summary: Even if the jobless rate is going up, that is a national average so don't feel like things are desperate. There are jobs available. There are programs available that can help you find a job. Don't give up and listen to those who are cynical about the future. If you want to get a job you will be able to find one.

The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life
By Ben Sherwood
GLENN: Shawn, I pray for you and God bless you. Thank you so much for calling. Things will get better. And listen, America, I just, I have a couple of friends who are losing their houses and they don't have anything. They don't have a job. They have nothing. And they -- you know, one of them just said to me a couple of days ago, crying to me, "Glenn, I did the right things. I did my job but then everything just changed overnight." And the best thing I could say to him is you're not alone. Anything I can do to help you, I will. You know, you need food, whatever, I will help you. Because I'm going to be in that situation, too, most likely. We all will. You know, if this thing spirals out of control -- and hopefully it doesn't. But if it does, we're going to need to depend on each other. We need to be the people that we promised we would be on September 12th. We're going to have to depend on each other. So reach out to each other. Let people know that they're not alone and that you do have compassion, and we've got to be the people that our grandparents were during the Great Depression and helping each other out.
Let me go to Ben Sherwood now. He is the author of the Survivors Club and Ben and I kind of e-mailed each other back and forth the other day. Excuse me, Ben. You have a new quiz out on the Internet that shows you what kind of an economic survivor you are.
SHERWOOD: That's right, Glenn. First of all, listening to Shawn I think that he identified exactly the survivor personality type that you and I have discussed before as the kind of person who bounces back from adversity is the person who refuses to get knocked down for good and they pick themselves up and they dust themselves off. He was laid off twice, but he goes out and he finds a part-time job. That's a real survivor personality and you know that he is going to make it. There are two facts that sort of jump out at me right now and the world, this recession, the great recession.
GLENN: I'm about to change that to the depression. I was at a dinner last night with leaders of two extraordinarily large corporations, gigantic corporations, and one of them said, you know, this depression -- and I said, excuse me, hang on. Did you just call it a depression? Both of the CEOs both looked at me like I was nuts and said, what are you calling it? And they are both liberals. They are both liberals. Anyway, go ahead.
SHERWOOD: So the two facts are first that one industry that is flourishing right now is the vegetable seed industry. Sales are up double digits and flower seed sales are down, and the reason is that in this recession people are realizing that you can't eat flowers and that to me is a sign of the kind of adaptability and hard thinking that people are having to do that is literally grow their own food. And there are actually seed companies, the world's largest seed company right now has a money package that's out there where they offer you $10 worth of seeds that can grow $685 worth of food for yourself. The second fact that I saw out there, again it goes to the survivor personality that we're going to talk about is that in recessions, going back to 1968, the enrollment and membership in evangelical churches grew 50% during each recession as people turned to faith and belief in God to get them through their ordeal. So this quiz that we put together that's available on your website, part of the Survivors Club philosophy is if you know what kind of survivor you are in an economic crisis, are you a fighter, are you a believer, are you a realist, you have a head start dealing with the challenges that we all face: Unemployment, foreclosure, bankruptcy. And so this quiz, in just a couple of minutes on your website, tells people what type of survivor they are and guide them to some resources on the Web that can help them through the different crises that they face.
GLENN: How does that help -- I can't remember what I was. What was I, Ben? I was a --
SHERWOOD: Connector. Connector.
GLENN: Connector. What does that mean and how would that help me?
SHERWOOD: Well, if you listen to what you were just saying earlier, sort of your message to your listeners this morning, we are not alone was sort of the central message that you put forward, that we need to reach out to other people, that you're there for your friend who's going through foreclosure and you'll help him in any way you can because you know someday you may face the same kind of challenge. That is the core connector philosophy. That's an idea that you're not one man against the world, that you belong to a community of people and that that community, your street, your neighborhood, your friends, your family, your church, that that community is your most powerful survival tool and so by knowing that you're a connector and digging deeper into the connector personality which I sort of lay out in great detail, you can begin to do things to pick yourself up, to pick your neighbor up and to get through this recession.
GLENN: How am I a connector if I am so against the global community? I am so against the government doing these things. I mean, that's what Obama -- I bet Obama's a connector. Isn't that the same --
SHERWOOD: You know, I -- that's sort of beyond my limited focus which is surviving and thriving against any challenge, whether it's economic or health. You know, I think what we study in the Survivors Club is what are the personality traits, what are the qualities that help some people bounce back and others don't, and --
GLENN: And is one stronger than another?
SHERWOOD: I don't think so because I think that believers, for instance, when I interviewed survivors around the world, people who were, as you know, attacked by mountain lions.
GLENN: Yeah.
SHERWOOD: Slammed by 20-ton trash trucks, left for dead after violent crimes, believers had the same kind of power to overcome adversity as fighters. Connectors had the same strengths as realists or thinkers. So no, I don't think any one particular type is better than any other.
GLENN: And how come I was a fighter when it comes to the other test and a connector when it comes to an economic?
SHERWOOD: Well, it's interesting because each situation calls upon a different set of traits that you have and as I've said to you, the deeper, richer profile, so we have a much deeper, longer test that comes along with the book that gives you the top three strengths that you have and the bottom three and it's sort of a longer, richer analysis. The quick glimpse on these quizzes gives you the top line of, for instance, what you're like in a survival challenge or what you're like in an economic challenge. So what we find in your test is that you're somebody who's going to rally your friends, be there for your friends, help your friends in the event of an economic challenge, whereas in a survival challenge, say outdoors or in a plane crash, you're more of a fighter type. You're a person who is going to be on a mission to lead people through the fire to solve your problem.
GLENN: Okay. The quiz is up at GlennBeck.com, and I want to come back to you just a little bit and talk about economic survival and what people need to survive. Ben Sherwood is on the phone. Ben Sherwood is the author of the Survivors Club. He went and he interviewed survivors of almost everything, from being eaten by a mountain lion to economic collapse and found out what they all have in common and it's fascinating stuff. If I'm not mistaken, one of the main points that you -- Stephen Colbert just ridiculed me last night for almost a half hour on our war room episode of looking at scary scenarios. And, you know, Ben, you are the guy that really showed me the importance of "Name the monster in the dark." Just look at the unthinkable and then you're not afraid of it anymore.
SHERWOOD: The Air Force has a phrase for that: Hug the monster. Name the monster in dark, hug the monster. When an Air Force, when an aviator is shot down in enemy territory, they train their pilots not to freeze and panic because you're behind enemy lines, all you've got is a pistol and a survival kit. They teach those aviators through incredibly rigorous training that I actually went through some of it in the woods of Spokane, Washington. They teach those aviators to go right up to that fear, grab a hold of it and wrestle with it because the more you are exposed to that fear, the more you embrace it, that fear stops terrifying and it actually becomes the main motivator to do something, to take action.
GLENN: It's the -- I mean, I tell you a lot of life answers could be found in "Star Wars." It's why Luke went into the cave and saw Darth Vader. It was with Yoda, right? I mean, it's the same thing. Face your fear.
SHERWOOD: Exactly, face your fear. The other thing they teach is this phrase that I love -- the Air Force is full of memorable phrases. They say eat an elephant one bite at a time.
GLENN: Right.
SHERWOOD: That means if you try to devour an entire elephant, you are going to get sick or you are going to give up.
GLENN: You wouldn't even know where to start.
SHERWOOD: Exactly. If you break your economic challenge into little parts, if you divide it up into small achievable tasks, you begin to develop some momentum and suddenly you're no longer sitting on your couch unable to open your 401(k) sheet or unable to deal with the fact that your company, your factory just closed and suddenly you're getting up in the morning, you're on the Internet, you're going to the library looking for resources. As some job counselors in Ohio have counseled, you are going to construction sites to see where the building is still taking place and asking what businesses are coming. Maybe you are going to a church pew and leaving behind a little sheet of paper that says what your qualifications are because as one expert in Ohio told the Wall Street Journal, churchgoers are generous and giving people and if they see you are showing initiative and you are trying to do something by leaving behind in church pews a church card that says you are available to do work, generous people may be inclined to help you and give you a lift and a hand and a job. So it's that attitude of just doing little things, suddenly you're on your way.

Moderate Dems feel sticker shock Over Obama’s Big Spending
March 3, 2009 ·
Moderate and conservative Democrats in the Senate are starting to choke over the massive spending and tax increases in President Barack Obama’s budget plans and have begun plotting to increase their influence over the agenda of a president who is turning out to be much more liberal than they are.
A group of 14 Senate Democrats and one independent huddled behind closed doors on Tuesday, discussing how centrists in that chamber can assert more leverage on the major policy debates that will dominate this Congress.
Afterward, some in attendance made plain that they are getting jitters over the cost and expansive reach of Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget proposal.! For More Click Here

GLENN: Japanese scientists have a dramatic break with UN and Western climate hypothesis in a new report from the Japanese energy commission. One of the five contributors compared computer climate modeling to ancient astrology. Now they are disagreeing with astrology, too. Astrology is settled. Hello. Three out of the five leading scientists contend that recent climate change is driven by natural cycles, not human industrial activity as political activists argue. Scientists. I don't think so. I mean, what are their qualifications? Were they vice president? I doubt it, no, never a vice president of the United States. Who are these people? Kanya Kusano, he is the program director and group leader for the Earth simulator at the Japan Agency For Marine-Earth Science and Technology, or JAMSTEC, which is one of my favorite -- I love. This is so great. Anyway, he has a doctorate of science from the University of Hiroshima which I assume is, well, at least probably has some relatively new research facilities along with all the other facilities and parking lots and everything else. But his expertise is in simulation science, plasma physics, space physics, astrosciences, fusion science, magneto-hydrodynamics which isn't like the Fantastic Four, isn't that -- oh, it's Japan, that's right. And multiscale modeling. I personally, I don't want to get all snooty here and scientific here but my personal favorite from him is probably the three-dimensional simulation study of flux rope dynamics in the solar corona. It was published in the astrophysical journal, but you could convince me. I mean, you could make a good argument that the measurement of magnetic helicity injection and free energy loading into the solar corona still holds up as an entertaining read. I mean, sometimes I still read that and go, that is so great. Anyway, the other guy is the head of the International Arctic Research Center in Alaska. He uses historical data to challenge the claim that the very recent temperatures represent an anomaly. Before anyone noticed this hypothesis has been substituted for truth, the opinion that great disaster will really happen must be broken. Akasofu, the other scientist, as you probably know being a scientific-minded person because it's the Obama administration. We're all putting science right where she belongs, he was named as the world's most cited scientist on space physics, but I mean, what do the physics of a place where that giant magic ball of fire lives, I mean, what does that have to do with warming here on Earth? I mean, it's crazy. Sure, don't get me wrong, I loved his paper on polar and magnetospheric sub storms. I still bring his paper on dynamics and the magnetosphere on vacation just to read at the beach. Come on, these guys aren't real scientists. Real science is practiced by those of us lucky enough to narrowly lose a presidential election, you know, when you blow your own home state. That's where real science is. Let's put science back in her rightful place, you know, right back within Al Gore's giant cranium.

New Element Discovered!
This was sent to me by a friend...
"New Element Discovered
Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from four days to four years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons."
