Massive CME From A Massive Hyder Solar Flare Is Earth Directed.

Massive Hyder Flare is on its way to Earth and should reach us Monday, November 27, 2011.  What is a Hyder Solar Flare?  In solar-terrestrial terms, a filament-associated two-ribbon flare, often occurring in spotless regions. The flare presumably results from the impact on the chromosphere of in falling filament material.

This is one large CME that is going to be a direct hit on Earth...DIRECT.  Be safe.

RADIATION STORM AND CME ALERT: A solar radiation storm is in progress around Earth. At the moment, the storm is classified as minor, which means it has little effect on Earth other than to disturb HF radio transmissions at high latitudes. Energetic protons, which make up the bulk of the storm, were accelerated in our direction earlier today by shock waves in a CME racing away from the sun at about 1000 km/s (2.2 million mph). According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the CME itself will reach Earth on Nov. 28th around 14:23 UT (+/- 7 hours). Click to view an animated forecast track:

The cloud could triggger geomagnetic storms when it arrives on Monday. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text, phone.

The forecasting group at Goddard notes that no two spacecraft have yet beamed back concurrent images of the CME. This makes their estimates of the CME's speed and direction necessarily approximate. Stay tuned for updates as more data arrive.

Mass whale beaching in New Zealand

An attempt to save fifteen beached whales, which weigh up to 1,500 kilos each, has taken place off the north coast of New Zealand.

The mass stranding of a pod of 73 whales was discovered midmorning. Boaters in a Redondo Beach, Calif., harbor wake up to find their boats completely surrounded by millions of dead fish

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. - Millions of anchovies and sardines have washed up dead in a Southern California marina and a spokeswoman says they apparently suffocated.

Staci Gabrielli, marine coordinator for King Harbor Marina in Redondo Beach, says boaters awakened Tuesday to find the silvery fish surrounding their vessels.

Gabrielli says it's believed the fish moved into the harbor late Monday or early Tuesday to escape a red tide, a naturally occurring bloom of toxic algae that can poison fish or starve them of oxygen.

Gabrielli says high winds apparently kept the fish from leaving the harbor and they all crushed up against the harbor wall, where they used up the oxygen and suffocated.

Another possible explanation is that the anchovies are prey for bigger fish and marine mammals, so large numbers may have swarmed into the harbor from deeper waters seeking shelter, reports Reuters.

Gabrielli says there are millions of fish and they're so thick in some places that boats can't get out of the harbor. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/08/national/main20040677.shtml

Incredible Swarms Of Fish Form Off Coast Of Acapulco

The shores of Acapulco's beaches were this weekend teeming with masses of fish packed so tightly they looked like an oil slick from above. Thousands of sardines, anchovies, stripped bass and mackerel surged along the coast of the Mexican resort in an event believed to be linked to the devastating Japanese tsunami.


Experts couldn't be sure whether it had anything to do with the earthquake in Japan.
