Obama asks governors to urge

Congress to avoid sequestration

---------------------------------------------
"The nation's governors don't have much patience for the fiscal follies now playing in Washington, D.C. They're required by their states' constitutions to balance their budgets -- they don't need blunt instruments like sequestration's across-the-board spending cuts to do the job. They and their state legislators simply make tough choices on spending and taxes -- the way government is supposed to work."

(CNSNews.com) – At a meeting with the National Governors Association on Monday, President Barack Obama closed his prepared speech by saying he wanted the press cleared out of the room so he could take some questions.
After saying he looked forward to working with the governors to build a “thriving middle class," Obama said: “That’s our goal, and I know that’s the goal of all of you as well. So I look forward to our partnering--and with that, what I want to do is clear out the press so we can take some questions."

Dedicated to the families who lost children in Connecticut today

WHERE TO BEGIN.  WHERE TO END.
Picture

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Your baby moving and growing safely in your womb.   Love.  Safe.  Nurturing.
Beginning at the opening of life.  Development.  Fascinating.  Amazing.
New life in your arms.   Miracle of birth.  Safely in your arms.  Happiness.  Euphoria.

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Speaking in babbles and bubbles until the first word is spoken.  Laughter.  Anticipation.  Appreciation.
Beginning the intellectual growth to full sentences.  Prideful.  Share.  Happiness.  Unconditional love.
Safely telling you when something isn't right or something is great.  Praise.  Love.  Relief.

Where to begin.  Where to end.
The life you brought to this earth only an arms distance away.   Incredible.  Safe.
Beginning to crawl and then walk away from that arms length.  Pride.  Fear.  Love.  Smile.
Distance grows, but safely an eyesight away.   Adoration and love.  Amazing.Where to begin.  Where to end.
Giving distance as school starts.  Heart hurts.  Crying.  Missing.  Praying.  Loving.  Longing.
Beginning independence.  Proud.  Sharing.  Deep worrying.  Encouraging.  Anticipating.
Shares experiences of learning and growth.  Magnets on fridg.  Crayon on wall.  Adore.  Amazing Love.

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Distance  again as I take you to school to learn and have fun.  Smile.  Love.  Run.
Beginning to drop off.  Think of your sweet smile.  I love you.  I adore you.  I encourage you.  Kiss good-bye.
Angels prepare for your entry into heaven as I leave.  Love.  Look at the magnets on the fridg and the crayon on the wall.

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Call from school.  Alarmed.  Your life from conception running in my mind.  Oh my love!  Hurry!  Worry.
Ending?  Where are you?  My baby.  My child once safe in womb, once babbling, crayon on wall, magnets on fridg.
Gone from your tiny shell?  Angels surround.  Gone?  No Graduation?  No Wedding?  No Babbling grandbabies?

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Praying.  Hold you one last time. Love.  Birth. Crawl.  Walk. Talk. Crayon on wall.  Magnets on fridg.  Kiss your forehead.
Beginning.  A new angel now in heaven.  My baby had love.  My baby had me.  I had my baby.  Mine forever.
Gone only from sight.  Never to forget.  Safe again.  Beginning to end to beginning. Love ever after.   Just a new chapter.

Where to begin.  Where to end.
Fly free my little angel.  No more fear my dear.  Love.  All encompassing love, light.  Heaven your new playground.
Beginning.  Play with your angel friends.  Run.  Fly.  Explore Heaven.  Please don't forget my love.  Memories forever.
Visit.  Kiss my cheek.  My baby angel.  Unconditional love.  One day we will be together forever.   Another new chapter.

Dishonorable Disclosures of Vital Intelligence by the Obama Administration.

The following is vital to the security of our country.  Please pass this on so that everyone can get the message and the message may finally sink into the current administration and its Hollywood ties. Thank you.

Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how President Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage. Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.

The unwarranted and dangerous public disclosure of Special Forces Operations is so serious -- that for the first time ever -- former operators have agreed to risk their reputations and go 'on the record' in a special documentary titled "Dishonorable Disclosures." Its goal is to educate America about serious breaches of security and prevent them from ever happening again.

Government Is Not Reason

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence--it is a force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." -- George Washington

Email Spam is Not Nugatory!

Third-party groups and their online petitions might not be the only reason people across the country received unsolicited e-mails from the White House, even though that's the explanation given by the administration.

The White House told FOX News that third-party groups sending online petitions to the official administration Web site could be to blame for a rash of e-mails that have gone out to people who never requested them. The theory is that these groups are including the names and e-mails of members and petition-signers along with the petitions themselves, in turn embedding those e-mails into the White House distribution list.

I'm sure this will be used by Obama's administration to describe this burning email situation...
Word Of The Day-Nugatory:Nugatory Definition

* Main Entry: nu·ga·to·ry
* Pronunciation: \ˈnü-gə-ˌtȯr-ē,

1 : of little or no consequence : trifling, inconsequential
2 : having no force : inoperative
synonyms see vain

Word Of The Day-Nugatory:Nugatory Definition is from Merriam-Webster Dictionary

The White House has already taken steps to add filters to its site in a bid to reduce the number of people who are receiving these e-mails.

But online petitions are not the only culprit, and critics say the White House still has some explaining to do.

Several people who received the White House e-mails have told FOX News they're not members of any organization and have not been advocating for any cause. And they're puzzled over how the White House got their information.

"I find it very disturbing and a little scary to say the least," said Sarah Griffith, who got a widely circulated e-mail on health care reform from senior adviser David Axelrod last week. "I have no idea how they got my e-mail address, and they have it."

Cash for Clunkers.

'Clunkers' Critics Question Move to Extend Funding for Program
Senate Republicans are raising concerns that extending the "cash for clunkers" program would use deficit spending to pay for a program that, according to its supporters, has already met its objectives.

The cash for clunkers exchange program has turned lawmakers into victims of their own success. Now some senators are questioning why taxpayers should continue to foot the bill for something that, according to supporters, has already achieved its goals.

The program, approved in June, pays people to trade in their gas-guzzling "clunkers" for new, fuel-efficient cars. It has helped boost auto dealers' sales numbers, and it's gotten a heap of inefficient vehicles off the road.

But the program, which was set to expire on Nov. 1, has already spent pretty much all of the $1 billion the government set aside for it, leading Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to say that the "wildly popular" program should be extended with additional funds.

The House voted to give the program a $2 billion lifeline on Friday, and LaHood now is putting pressure on the Senate to approve the extension before it adjourns for August recess at the end of the week. He said Monday he expects it will pass.

A senior Democratic adviser told FOX News that Senate leaders hope to act on the extension later this week.

But there was never a mandate in the original legislation that said the program had to last until November.

"Program runs through Nov 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted, whichever comes first," reads the government Web site for the "clunkers" program.

The exhaustion of funds simply came before the expiration date. Republicans are suggesting it's too late to change the allocation now.

I just think this is a great example of the stupidity that's coming out of Washington right now," Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said on "FOX News Sunday," adding that the Senate needs to "slow this thing down."

"We estimated this would cost $1 billion," DeMint said. "Now they're saying we need $2 billion more. Our children and grandchildren can't afford to make these car dealers well right now."

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has threatened to block the bill.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in prepared remarks, said Monday that the lifeline request just shows how poor the original spending estimates were.

Though supporters are talking about pulling the additional $2 billion from existing stimulus funds, that hasn't quelled Republican concerns.

McConnell spokesman Don Stewart said that cash is still "borrowed money."

"They can say it's paid for, but it's paid for with a credit card. ... It's like making your minimum payment through a cash advance of another credit card," he said.

However, because the "clunkers" program was originally authorized at $4 billion -- not $1 billion -- some supporters had wanted to review its funding this fall anyway to see if more money could be allocated.

Summers Advising.

Good news on the economy!...or is it?

"Larry Summers, Obama's top economic adviser, thinks the White House is doing a great job with the economy. "We were at the brink of catastrophe at the beginning of the year, but we have walked a substantial distance back from the abyss," says Summers.

Speaking at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington on Friday, his first "progress report" since March, Summers pointed to a string of promising (albeit obscure) signs of recovery: ...Google searches for "economic depression," which surged to quadruple their normal levels, have since returned to normal."

Doesn't this "advisor" know that other things might be happening if the Google search for "economic depression" is down? Such as, less people can afford computers and the Internet...or enough "economic depression" news is broadcast for people to feel like we are in an "economic depression" already so they feel helpless and that it won't matter if they Google it or not...

"A somewhat more important indicator--the unemployment rate--isn't as upbeat, though and has become a thorn in the administration's side. It hit 9.5% in June, embarrassing the administration's predictions that if their $787 billion stimulus were passed, the rate would peak a bit above 8%. Economists predict it will soon top 10%, erasing all the jobs created in the U.S. since the beginning of the decade."

Well, don't just take my word for it. Click here to read it from Forbes.com.
