North Korea threatens to kill authors of report claiming Kim Jong-un handed out copies of Hitler's Mein Kampf

North Korea has threatened to kill the authors of a report claiming Kim Jong-un used Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf as a leadership guide.

The article by New Focus International, an online news portal run by North Korean defectors, said Mr Kim gave copies of the German Nazi dictator's manifesto to his top officials.

The report, sourced to an unnamed North Korean official working in China, said the translated copies were handed out at the time of Mr Kim's birthday in January.

"Mentioning that Hitler managed to rebuild Germany in a short time following its defeat in World War I, Kim Jong-un issued an order for the Third Reich to be studied in depth and asked that practical applications be drawn from it," the source was quoted as saying.

Mr Kim also stressed that sports had played a key role in cementing unity and spreading Nazi ideology in Germany, and called for policies to encourage sporting activities among North Koreans, the source said.

The report was picked up by all major South Korean newspapers on Wednesday.

But the North's police agency later called the report a "thrice-cursed crime" aimed at belittling its leader, and threatened to kill the "human scum" behind the article.

"We are... determined to take substantial measures to physically remove despicable human scum who are committing treasons," it said in a statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

"Sordid human scum will never be able to look up to the sky nor be able to find an inch of land to be buried after their death."

It also vowed to launch "merciless punishment of justice" against Seoul and Washington, accusing the two nations of encouraging the defectors to defame its ruler.

Mein Kampf, which translates to English as My Struggle, was written in 1924 while Hitler was being held in a Bavarian prison before becoming a German leader.

It is both a vicious anti-Semitic tract and rambling memoir.

The Kim family dynasty has ruled North Korea with an iron fist for more than six decades.

Mr Kim took over the isolated communist state after the death of his father Kim Jong-il, in December 2011.

North Korea has condemned a report that its leader, Kim Jong-un, gave out copies of Adolf Hitler's memoir Mein Kampf to officials on his birthday.

The report, from a news website run by North Korean defectors, said that senior officials were given the book as a gift in January.

North Korea has denounced the defectors as "human scum" and threatened to kill them.

Nazi leader Adolf Hitler wrote Mein Kampf in 1924 while in prison.

The book, which translates in English as My Struggle, outlines his early life and racist views.

News portal New Focus International wrote the original report, citing an unnamed North Korean official in China.

"Mentioning that Hitler managed to rebuild Germany in a short time following its defeat in WWI, Kim Jong-un issued an order for the Third Reich to be studied in depth and asked that practical applications be drawn from it," the source reportedly said.

North Korea's Ministry of People's Security, which is responsible for policing, issued an angry response which was carried by the country's official news agency, KCNA.

It dismissed the report as a "smear campaign" written by "a handful of human scum... moving desperately to deter [North Korea's] progress".

The defectors were being used by South Korea and the US, it went on.

The ministry was determined to "physically remove [the] despicable human scum who are committing treason", the statement added.

The two Koreas remain technically at war after the 1950-53 Korean war ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty.

Ties between the two are currently very tense in the wake of Pyongyang's 12 February nuclear test.

North Korean ruler Kim Jong-Un has reportedly given copies of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” to his top officials, urging them to study it as a leadership skills manual.

Kim handed out translations of the German dictator’s manifesto to select officials at the time of his birthday in January, reported New Focus International, an online news portal run by North Korean defectors.

The report, sourced to an unnamed North Korean official working in China, was picked up by all major South Korean newspapers on Wednesday.

“Mentioning that Hitler managed to rebuild Germany in a short time following its defeat in World War I, Kim Jong-Un issued an order for the Third Reich to be studied in depth and asked that practical applications be drawn from it,” the source was quoted as saying.

Kim also stressed that sports had played a key role in cementing unity and spreading Nazi ideology in Germany, and called for policies to encourage sporting activities among North Koreans, the source said.

Peace In Our Time? Appeasement? Obama's Inaugural Address.

President Obama's use of the phrase "peace in our time," often ascribed to Neville Chamberlain, in his second inaugural address has caused something of a stir, as PJ Media points out. It has made people wonder if Obama is embracing appeasement. ~ VOICES

If you did not already know that the President has no grasp of history, no knowledge of what he is saying, this should help confirm it.
According to the transcript released by the White House, President Obama channeled Neville Chamberlain, using the phrase "peace in our time" to tout his reelection.
The President explained (emphasis mine):

We will support democracy from Asia to Africa, from the Americas to the Middle East, because our interests and our conscience compel us to act on behalf of those who long for freedom. And we must be a source of hope to the poor, the sick, the marginalized, the victims of prejudice. Not out of mere charity, but because peace in our time requires the constant advance of those principles that our common creed describes.

As you certainly remember, the short-sighted Prime Minister of Great Britain, Neville Chamberlain promised the very same thing, just a single year before the most destructive war in history ripped Europe to sunders. ~FREE REPUBLIC

OBAMA: 'PEACE IN OUR TIME'

It was either an embarrassing slip, or a frightening revelation of the president’s true worldview. Either way, the words “peace in our time,” made infamous by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain as he promised an illusory peace with Adolf Hitler in 1938, should never have been in President Barack Obama’s second inaugural address. Yet they were, and went virtually unnoticed until caught by conservatives on social media.

The phrase appeared in a passage on foreign policy, in which the president pledged to defend the nation while resolving differences peacefully [emphasis added]: 

And we must be a source of hope to the poor, the sick, the marginalized, the victims of prejudice--not out of mere charity, but because peace in our time requires the constant advance of those principles that our common creed describes: tolerance and opportunity; human dignity and justice.

The sentence is rather tortured, but the idea seems to be that promoting socioeconomic equality around the world can help prevent conflict. It echoes the “root causes” theory of terrorism, which is that poverty produces extremism or at least provides it fertile ground There is some truth to that, although many terrorists come from middle class origins, and target America precisely because it symbolizes the values the president described.

Regardless, the reason Chamberlain’s “peace in our time” is remembered is not that his theory of international relations was wrong but because he was hopelessly, dangerously naïve about Hitler’s intentions. A year after Chamberlain waved the paper on which he had signed the Munich Agreement, ceding the sovereignty of Czechosolvakia in return for Hitler’s promises of peace, Germany had invaded Poland and Britain was at war.

President Obama shows similar naïveté, or hubris, about the war against international terrorism. “A decade of war is now ending,” he declared, even as a new front has opened in the war against Al Qaeda in Africa. He--ironically--failed to mention Afghanistan, where soldiers still fight and die in a cause President Obama has all but abandoned, and where America has already once suffered the brutal consequences of neglect.

Like Chamberlain, the president seems to believe in negotiation as an end in itself. He spent his first term seeking an elusive nuclear agreement with the Iranian regime, even permitting it to recover from a near-revolution in 2009, convinced that its assurances of peaceful intentions would be enough. He backed away from promises of missile defense to Poland and the Czech Republic--receiving nothing from Russia in return.

When Republicans called President Obama’s approach “appeasement,” he responded angrily: “Ask Osama bin Laden...whether I engage in appeasement.” Yet Obama has been trying to negotiate with the Taliban who once sheltered bin Laden and Al Qaeda, in an attempt to put a brave face on withdrawal. And Al Qaeda’s attacks on U.S. diplomatic missions in the Middle East on Sep. 11, 2012 suggest that it has not been deterred.

The president intends to continue pulling back. His nominees to foreign policy posts--John Kerry (State), Chuck Hagel (Defense), and John Brennan (CIA)--each share his vision of a humbler America. He pretends the alternative to his approach is “perpetual war.” But Ronald Reagan showed the merit of “peace through strength,” challenging Soviet aggression, standing up to terror and letting dissidents know they were not alone.

President Obama has shown a very selective interest in history, narrowly focused on the sites of civil rights struggles--Osawatomie, for example, and the three sites mentioned in his address. Beyond that familiar subject, he shows little sensitivity or expertise: he once flubbed the date of the Constitutional Convention, for example, and pulled out of the missile defense deal on the 60th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Poland.

History remembers Chamberlain’s “peace in our time” as the definitive statement of appeasement, which is precisely why its use in the president’s inaugural address is so odd, and ominous. It is possible that it was simply the error of a young speechwriter. But the White House boasted that the president had written early drafts of his address. And his policies suggest that “peace in our time” is indeed, despite history, close to his heart.

Eugenics and Obamacare.

"An interpretation of the phrase "survival of the fittest" to mean "only the fittest organisms will prevail" (a view sometimes derided as "Social Darwinism") is not consistent with the actual theory of evolution. Any individual organism which succeeds in reproducing itself is "fit" and will contribute to survival of its species, not just the "physically fittest" ones, though some of the population will be better adapted to the circumstances than others. Not surprising, there is a great deal of backlash that seems to be coming out of left field regarding this Obama Administration Healthcare Reform Bill. Maybe the reality check has already begun for those who mistakenly voted for Obama in the first place. Perhaps the reality check needs to happen for those who seem to think that the anger is somehow contrived and staged regarding this massive Trillion Dollar plan.

The way the vote is going to go through for the healthcare reform bill...in the form of a budgetary measure so that Biden can be the 51st vote -- "Hitler insisted that his party was determined to come to power legally, that the phrase "National Revolution" was only to be interpreted "politically", and that his Party was a friend, not an enemy...Hitler appealed to the bulk of German farmers, war veterans and the middle class, who had been hard-hit by both the inflation of the 1920s and the unemployment of the Depression..." Although the consensus seemed to be negatory on the Utah Health Insurance Exchange, it didn't seem to stop it from going forward. Big surprise?

The Heritage Foundation published an article regarding their concerns about this Healthcare Reform Bill and the Exchange.

"Members of Congress, pursuing President Barack Obama's health policy agenda, want to create a national health insurance exchange as a platform for a public health care plan to compete against private health insurance.

...While a national health insurance exchange is sometimes described as a nationwide pool of health insurance providers that would facilitate access to coverage for individuals and employers, its major function would be to provide a platform for a government-run public health plan that, using Medicare-style administrative pricing, would "compete" against private health insurance. Congressional champions of the idea say that this would increase the range of choice and competition available to Americans. In fact, it would do exactly the opposite."

Sarah Palin vs Obama.

Sarah Palin is not taking the celebrity role in politics, unlike Obama. Big surprise that someone actually cares about making sure that things are done right and not that they have friendships with celebrities, as well as power to "change".

How would things be if Palin was President? We wouldn't be on a continual campaign with townhalls for everything. We wouldn't be dealing with a "Health Care Reform" bill that will get shoved through on 51 votes as a "budget" item and cost in more ways than just the growing deficit.

Yes, if Sarah Palin was president, there wouldn't be "the blame game" after 6+ months in office. While I am sure that she is only human and far from perfect, we probably would see some humility coming from her, instead of the constant arrogance we see in the Obama aura. Can you trust a president who has every media event choreographed?

"As the Ticket reported yesterday, Obama answered questions at a town hall at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Va., about protecting the uninsured, giving consumers a public option and converting medical records from paper to digital files. The White House portrayed the town-hall meeting as one in a series of public outreach events, a way for the president to keep his finger on the pulse of public opinion, and in turn to sway Americans on the complex and contentious issue.

This morning, the Washington Post is reporting that "of the seven questions the president answered, four were selected by his staff from videos submitted to the White House Web site or from those responding to a request for 'tweets.' " And the three audience members he called on randomly? The Post says "all turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee."

None of this would surprise any good White House advance staffer. Better to control the crowd, screen the questions, anticipate the topics. And, to be fair, a college campus in a Democratic county might be expected to produce friendly questioners.

The problem is that Obama himself made an issue of transparency, promising an administration that allowed the public to see what its government was doing. In fact on Jan. 22, his first full day in office, Obama issued a series of executive orders instructing government agencies to open their files, saying, "Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency." -- L.A. Times

Yes, while the vote has been cast for the current U.S. president (sounds like terminology for the "Golden Globes"), the opinions of U.S. citizens are beginning to turn. While I wish the tide was changing much more quickly, these programs that are being shoved through at the speed-of-light are sure to change the tide by the next presidential election...I hope.

I pray that our U.S. Constitution holds out for this stretch of "change". I just pray that my children won't be paying for the "change" the rest of their lives (which will be cut short because of the new health care reform).

Neighbors informed on neighbors, some for reasons of patriotism or loyalty, some from fear. A modern inquisition ensued; a terror to free thought and expression. Increasingly harsh penalties were meted out to those who dared to dissent...

The socialist governments of the Soviet Union, Fascist Italy, N. Korea, Cuba, Yugoslavia, and the People's Republic of China employed the same citizen informer techniques. Citizens of those societies were reduced to either silence or whispered discussion only among those they trusted the most. Of course none of those things would ever occur here in the land of the free. But wait...


Now on the White House website posted by Macon Phillips comes an eerily similar request for citizens to inform on their neighbors. It states,


"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to the end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

Read this again carefully. The government of the United States is openly asking citizens to report rumors, the contents of casual conversation, and the contents of emails. They decry the fact that they are unable to "keep track" of the communication between citizens effectively and are asking for help from informers. Of course forwarded emails would contain the electronic addresses of the sender." -- American Thinker
