Sabbath Day. Knowledge of Heaven and of Earth.

"78. Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the Kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;

79. Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgements which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms--

80. That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you.

81. Behold, I send you out to testify and warn the people, and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor." -- Doctrine and Covenants 88:78-81

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it is our duty to ourselves, our family, our community, and our country, to be aware of and understand the events around the globe. Do we need to be experts? No. However, it is prudent that we don't isolate ourselves from this important knowledge. Don't get so lost in your daily life that you are not aware of those around you. This is important in our families, neighborhoods, churches, communities, and the globe. Where can you be of service? What can you learn from the situations going on around you?

We should share the Gospel with others so that they too may be prepared when He comes again. By remaining aware of the world around us and regular studying the Gospel, we will be ready when appropriate times come for us to share the Gospel. Keep an inner peace and the spirit close by, while at the same time opening our eyes to the events going on around us.

We can live in this world, with the knowledge of the workings and events of the world around us, without being of the world. I pray we can all do this by living the Gospel.

Heaven On Earth

Positive thinking becomes positive living.
Positive living becomes a positive legacy.

A Positive legacy becomes many who speak positively.

Many who speak positively becomes many who think positively.
Many who think positively becomes many who are living positively.
Many who are living positively becomes many who leave positive legacies.

Many positive legacies become world peace.
World peace becomes Heaven On Earth.
