Obama's Religious Background Compiled.

Obama did attend Muslim school. Both of his parents were not American. By law, aren't they supposed to be American?...

Corsi was deported from Kenya when planning to launch his book about Obama...

Memri TV, Libyan Leader Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi (Qatar) on foreign contributions to the Obama campaign and Obama being praised...

"It has been proven that there is no democracy in the US. Rather, it is a dictatorship no different than the dictatorships of Hitler, Napoleon...In the days of crazy Reagan,...Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency...This indicates that our brother Obama is ignorant of international politics and is not familiar with the Middle East conflict."

"The thing we fear most is that the black man [Obama] suffers from an inferiority complex. This is dangerous. If our brother Obama feels that because he is black he doesn't have the right to rule America, this would be a disaster, because such a feeling would make him behave whiter than the white, and go to an extreme in his persecution and degradation of the blacks...We still hope that this black man will take pride in his African and Islamic identity...and that he will change American from evil to good."--Libyan Leader Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi

"He ain't white, he ain't rich, and he ain't privileged...rich white men fit the mold...in a country, a culture, controlled by rich, white people...Jesus was a poor black man who lived in a country, who lived in a culture that was controlled by rich, white people..."--Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Do we want someone running our country who has been listening to this, studying this, for over 20 years?

Video of Obama and his old, dear friend Khalidi

So, let's just say that Obama wins the White House. Do we have insurance that he will keep his word? Do we have insurance that he will keep the U.S. Constitution? Do we have his word that he won't associate with terrorists?

My guess is...and I would almost bet money on it...that Obama would sit down with Amademajad and talk. Do you know why I think so highly of my guess? Because he has associated with terrorists in the past...the not so distant past.

Who is paying off the news and media not to give out vital information like that which has come to light today? Do you know what I am talking about? No?

Well, the L.A. Times obtained a videotape of a party.

During this party, Obama mingled with racists and terrorists. Obama even gave a "glowing testimonial" for the benefit of a top apologist for terrorists...the guest of honor. He also stood by, listening with approval, to other racists and terrorists giving speeches that included their hatred for an American ally, rationalizing terror attacks. (I can only assume that the American ally was Israel...sound familiar?)

The L.A. Times won't release this videotape. Hmmm, have they been paid to stay quiet?

"Wallsten’s story is worth excerpting at length (italics are mine):

It was a celebration of Palestinian culture — a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York.

A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table," but around "this entire world."...

[T]he warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor's going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.

Their belief is not drawn from Obama's speeches or campaign literature, but from comments that some say Obama made in private and from his association with the Palestinian American community in his hometown of Chicago, including his presence at events where anger at Israeli and U.S. Middle East policy was freely expressed.

At Khalidi's 2003 farewell party, for example, a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, "then you will never see a day of peace."

One speaker likened "Zionist settlers on the West Bank" to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been "blinded by ideology."

Obama adopted a different tone in his comments and called for finding common ground. But his presence at such events, as he worked to build a political base in Chicago, has led some Palestinian leaders to believe that he might deal differently with the Middle East than … his opponents for the White House....

At Khalidi's going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. "You will not have a better senator under any circumstances," Khalidi said.

The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.

Though Khalidi has seen little of Sen. Obama in recent years, Michelle Obama attended a party several months ago celebrating the marriage of the Khalidis' daughter.

In interviews with The Times, Khalidi declined to discuss specifics of private talks over the years with Obama. He did not begrudge his friend for being out of touch, or for focusing more these days on his support for Israel — a stance that Khalidi calls a requirement to win a national election in the U.S., just as wooing Chicago's large Arab American community was important for winning local elections."

"Why is the Los Angeles Times sitting on a videotape of the 2003 farewell bash in Chicago at which Barack Obama lavished praise on the guest of honor, Rashid Khalidi — former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat?" link here

"The party featured encomiums by many of Khalidi’s allies, colleagues, and friends, including Barack Obama, then an Illinois state senator, and Bill Ayers, the terrorist turned education professor. It was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), which had been founded by Khalidi and his wife, Mona, formerly a top English translator for Arafat’s press agency."

"Gateway Pundit reports that the Times has the videotape but is suppressing it."

"... it turns out that the Obamas are extremely close to the Khalidis, who have reportedly babysat the Obama children."

The Times reported on the event (hosted by Obama in 2003) on April 9, 2008...

"A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking in the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking."

The Nation published an opinion peice by Khalidi entitled "Palestine: Liberation Deferred" in which Khalidi characterised the Palestinian question as a "...running sore.". Five days later in The Atlantic magazine, Obama responded in a similar manner saying that "this constant sore, does infect all of our foreign policy".

Sabbath Day, October 26, 2008, "The Daffodil Principle"

The Daffodil Principle

Several times my daughter had telephoned to say,
"Mother, you must come to see the daffodils before they are over."

I wanted to go, but it was a two-hour drive from Laguna to Lake Arrowhead.
"I will come next Tuesday",

I promised, a little reluctantly, on her third call.

Next Tuesday dawned cold and rainy.

Still, I had promised, and reluctantly I drove there.

When I finally walked into Carolyn's house I was welcomed by the joyful sounds of happy children. I delightedly hugged and greeted my grandchildren.

"Forget the daffodils, Carolyn! The road is invisible in these clouds and fog, and there is nothing in the world except you and these children that I want to see badly enough to drive another inch!"

My daughter smiled calmly and said,
"We drive in this all the time, Mother."

"Well, you won't get me back on the road until it clears, and then I'm heading for home!",

I assured her.

"But first we're going to see the daffodils. It's just a few blocks",
Carolyn said.
"I'll drive. I'm used to this."

"Carolyn",
I said sternly,
"Please turn around".

"It's all right, Mother, I promise. You will never forgive yourself if you miss this experience."

After about twenty minutes, we turned onto a small gravel road and I saw a small church. On the far side of the church, I saw a hand lettered sign with an arrow that read, "Daffodil Garden".

We got out of the car, each took a child's hand, and I followed Carolyn down the path. Then, as we turned a corner, I looked up and gasped.

Before me lay the most glorious sight.

It looked as though someone had taken a great vat of gold and poured it over the mountain and its surrounding slopes. The flowers were planted in majestic, swirling patterns, great ribbons and swaths of deep orange, creamy white, lemon yellow, salmon pink, and saffron and butter yellow. Each different colored variety was planted in large groups so that it swirled and flowed like its own river with its own unique hue. There were five acres of flowers.

"Who did this?",
I asked Carolyn.
"Just one woman",
Carolyn answered.
"She lives on the property. That's her home."
Carolyn pointed to a well-kept A-frame house, small and modestly sitting in the midst of all that glory. We walked up to the house.

On the patio, we saw a poster. "Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking", was the headline. The first answer was a simple one. "50,000 bulbs", it read. The second answer was, "One at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and one brain". The third answer was, "Began in 1958".

For me, that moment was a life-changing experience.

I thought of this woman whom I had never met, who, more than forty years before, had begun, one bulb at a time, to bring her vision of beauty and joy to an obscure mountaintop. Planting one bulb at a time, year after year, this unknown woman had forever changed the world in which she lived. One day at a time, she had created something of extraordinary magnificence, beauty, and inspiration. The principle her daffodil garden taught is one of the greatest principles of celebration.

That is, learning to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time--often just one baby-step at time--and learning to love the doing, learning to use the accumulation of time.

When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world.

"It makes me sad in a way",
I admitted to Carolyn.
"What might I have accomplished if I had thought of a wonderful goal thirty-five or forty years ago and had worked away at it 'one bulb at a time' through all those years? Just think what I might have been able to achieve!"

My daughter summed up the message of the day in her usual direct way.
"Start tomorrow",
she said.

She was right. It's so pointless to think of the lost hours of yesterdays. The way to make learning a lesson of celebration instead of a cause for regret is to only ask, "How can I put this to use today?".

Use the Daffodil Principle.

Stop waiting....

...Until your car or home is paid off

...Until you get a new car or home

...Until your kids leave the house

...Until you go back to school

...Until you finish school

...Until you clean the house

...Until you organize the garage

...Until you clean off your desk

...Until you lose 10 lbs.

...Until you gain 10 lbs.

...Until you get married

...Until you get a divorce

...Until you have kids

...Until the kids go to school

...Until you retire

...Until Summer

...Until Spring

...Until Winter

...Until Fall

...Until you die...

There is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

So work like you don't need money. Love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

Wishing you a beautiful, daffodil day!

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Obama's New Party Socialist Working Families Party Agenda Revealed

Here we have more controversy in the Obama campaign...big surprise. When I conducted my own research, here is what I found connecting Obama and socialism.

First, some history on the issue.

"The SP [Socialist Party] focuses on grassroots activism in addition to electoral politics. It has conducted "Socialist Summer" campaigns in recent years to address issues such as counter-recruitment and fighting to end the military-industrial complex; promoting socialized health care; supporting immigrant workers and battling persecution of immigrants following the September 11, 2001 attacks; and promoting civil liberties and civil rights.

The Party's principles and platform call for the elimination of the power of big business through public ownership and workers' control, production for use instead of profit, and the establishment of a classless society.

...favor a more radical or revolutionary transformation of society from capitalist to socialist"--according to Wikipedia.org

The Social Democratic Party and part of the Socialist Labor Party merged to create the Socialist Party of America.

The Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee was founded by the Socialist Party of America.

The Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee merged with the New American Movement to form the Democratic Socialists of America.

Two Other Socialist Party factions went on to form Social Democrats USA and the Socialist Party USA.

The Democratic Socialists of America established The New Party.

The New Party became the Working Families Party.

"The New Party was founded in the early 1990s by Daniel Cantor...as an effort to break with the largely unsuccessful history of left-leaning third parties in the United States.

...the New Party built modestly successful chapters in several states. Some of these chapters — such as those in Chicago and Little Rock — had their main bases of support in the low-income community organizing group ACORN, along with some support from various labor unions (especially ACORN-allied locals of the Service Employees International Union).

...Several chapters — initially, those chapters not connected with ACORN — disaffiliated. ... Cantor and other key staff members left to found the Working Families Party..."--according to Wikipedia.org

See the connection? Cantor left the New Party and founded the Working Families Party.

"New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George's County, Md. Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis, who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago."--according to the November 1996 Progressive Populist magazine

"Here are some of our key races:...

Illinois: Three NP [New Party]-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)."--according to New Party.org

"The Chicago New Party is increasingly becoming a viable political organization that can make a different in Chicago politics....

Secondly, the NP's '96 Political Program has been enormously successful with 3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries...Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration."--according to the July/August 1996 edition of the Democratic Socialists of America fourth story down at this link

Now, here is some documented history regarding the Working Families Party (WFP).

"The Working Families Party (WFP) is a minor political party in the United States founded in New York in 1998. ...

New York's Working Families Party was first organized in 1998 by a coalition of labor unions, ACORN and other community organizations, members of the now-inactive national New Party, and a variety of public interest groups. The party blends a culture of political organizing with unionism, 1960s idealism, and tactical pragmatism. ...it has won notable policy gains at the city, county and state level by piggybacking on Democratic or Republican candidates.

The Working Families Party currently endorses Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) for the 2008 presidential election.

The party's Co-Chairs are Sam Williams, UAW Region 9 CAP director; Bertha Lewis, ACORN's executive director

The intensely activist union is known to contribute more than $100,000 a year of the party's $1.4 million annual budget."--according to Wikipedia.org

"...the party's large-scale canvassing effort may have been a decisive factor. Officials say its paid workers and volunteers knocked on 40,000 doors in the Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan district, identified 9,000 likely supporters of the candidate...

"They run a very, very effective field operation," a chief political strategist for the Senate Democrats, Douglas Forand, said. "In a low-turnout election, what's most critical is identifying and turning out the vote."...

...Working Families Party officials say their role in the elections gives them significantly more leverage to mold policy to the party's liking.

"We don't want just a change of parties. We want a change of policies," a spokesman for the party, Daniel Levitan, said. "We want to flip the Senate..."

Their endorsements have also gone to candidates who support raising taxes...

For the unions, the party offers them a place on the ballot, a sophisticated piece of political machinery to enforce their platform...

...The party also allows them to lobby the Legislature..."
--according to the New York Sun

"The Working Families Party was formed in 1998 ... The plan at the time was not to cut ties with the Democratic Party but to be a force to prevent the Democrats from continuing what the group’s leaders described as a drift to a more conservative agenda."--according to The New York Times

"...the Working Families Party may have illegally funneled nearly $32,000 to ACORN, the left-wing group accused of voter fraud in several parts of the country." --according to the New York Post

"...promoting ACORN-friendly candidates. Unlike conventional political parties, WFP charges its members dues -- about $60 per year -- a policy characteristic of ACORN and its affiliates.

According to the party's website, WFP is a coalition founded jointly by ACORN, the Communications Workers of America, and the United Automobile Workers. However, ACORN clearly dominates the coalition. New York ACORN leader Steven Kest was the moving force in forming the party, and WFP headquarters are located at the same address as ACORN's national office, at 88 Third Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.

"The [Working Families Party] was created in 1998 to help push the Democratic Party toward the left," noted the Associated Press in 2000. In pursuit of this goal, WFP runs radical candidates in state and local elections. Generally, WFP candidates conceal their extremism beneath a veneer of populist rhetoric, promoting bread-and-butter issues designed to appeal to union workers and other blue-collar voters, Republican and Democrat alike.

...Thus when Hillary Clinton ran for the Senate in 2000, she ran both on the Democratic Party ticket and on the Working Families Party ticket.

"Candidates know that when they're on our line, they're committed to certain things," explains Bertha Lewis, who moonlights as WFP co-chair and New York ACORN Executive Director. Speaking days before Mrs. Clinton won her Senate seat in 2000, Lewis noted, "Hillary knows that if she wins, we're going to be knockin' on her door. She won't be able to hide."--according to Discover The Networks.org

"The WFP's platform almost exclusively promotes kitchen-table economic positions, such as supporting higher wages, preventing outsourcing and expanding health care.

So, for example, Hillary Clinton in 2000 received 102,000 votes for U.S. Senate on the WFP line, meaning 102,000 people sent her a message that their support was contingent on her supporting the WFP's agenda. According to WFP Executive Director Dan Cantor, this message gets louder down the ballot. "We brand our endorsed candidates right on the ballot so that voters who might not know the candidate still know how to vote on the important issues," he says.

Voters then rated the party on a scale where 1 was extremely liberal and 9 extremely conservative. Fifty-seven percent of voters labeled the WFP at 5 or above."

So, if you were wondering if Obama is connected as a socialist in America, you need not wonder anymore. If you were wondering if your taxes are going to be raised if Obama becomes the next U.S. President, you need not wonder anymore. If you wonder if there is a hidden agenda behind Obama's populist rhetoric, you need not wonder anymore. He is not driving only his own agenda but that of the WFP as well. I have issue with this being okay with people in America!

The Signs of the Times. Multiple Sources. Terrifying Conclusions.

What are the "signs of the times"? The answer depends on the source.

"Even the most seasoned newsmen who have "seen it all" are in awe of the world developments in recent years. All of them realize that something unique in the history of the world is happening today. And what's most stunning about it all is the breath-taking rapidity of these recent developments." --according to JeremiahProject.com

"The Apostle Paul warned that the last days would bring a marked increase in false teaching. “In the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). The last days are described as “perilous times” because of the increasingly evil character of man and people who actively “resist the truth” (2 Timothy 3:1-9; see also 2 Thessalonians 2:3)...Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel (Ezekiel 37). Having Israel as a nation in its own land is important in light of end-time prophecy, because of Israel’s prominence in eschatology (Daniel 10:14; 11:41; Revelation 11:8)." --according to GotQuestions.org

"...the hottest topic in U.S. counterintelligence circles: rogue microchips...All computers on the market today -- be they Dell, Toshiba, Sony, Apple or especially IBM -- are assembled with components manufactured inside the PRC. Each component produced by the Chinese, according to a reliable source within the intelligence community, is secretly equipped with a hidden microchip that can be activated any time by China's military intelligence services, the PLA.

"It is there, deep inside your computer, if they decide to call it up," the security chief of a multinational corporation told The Investigator. "It is capable of providing Chinese intelligence with everything stored on your system -- on everyone's system -- from e-mail to documents. I call it Call Home Technology. It doesn't mean to say they're sucking data from everyone's computer today, it means the Chinese think ahead -- and they now have the potential to do it when it suits their purposes."..."Trojan Horse on a Chip" or "The Manchurian Chip," Call Home Technology came to light after the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) launched a security program in December 2007 called Trust in Integrated Circuits. DARPA awarded almost $25 million in contracts to six companies and university research labs to test foreign-made microchips for hardware Trojans, back doors and kill switches... "They don't know quite what to do about it. The Chinese have even been able to hack into the computer system that handles our Intercontinental Ballistic Missile system."..." or essentially computer/Internet terrorism or warfare --according to Cryptome.info

"Nuclear incident would make 9/11 'insignificant': nuke commission...Evans told reporters there were between 13,000 and 16,000 nuclear warheads actively deployed around the world and that it was "really a bit of a miracle" that a nuclear catastrophe had not occurred during the Cold War or afterwards..."If there is a breakout by Iran, or a perceived breakout by Iran, the Middle East alone is the cockpit in which we can anticipate such a cascade of proliferation by a number of other countries," he said." --according to YahooNews.com

"After the economic 9/11, we will face a new world order"--according to Nick Glegg and the Yorkshire Post

"For centuries Jews have remembered and mourned the destruction of the Temple...Located in the Jewish Quarter, some 100,000 visitors, about half of them Christian, visit the institute each year to learn about the First and Second Temples and preparations for the Third Temple."--according to JewishWorld.jpost.com

"After the coming economic financial collapse, a state of world-wide martial law will be declared. Considering the current events which are in direct alignment with documented plans for totalitarian one-world government, (white paper plans published by the Tri-Lateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, and Club of Rome), martial law will be imposed without official dissent upon the various countries of the world. Martial law is military rule imposed upon civilian populations in a time of war or during a (sic) "State of Emergency". The following elements can be expected to occur once the t.v. news anchors tell people not to panic, but that a State of Emergency has been declared due to the crash, and a (sic) temporary state of martial law has been declared, which will be rescinded once the State of Emergency has passed." --according to Nolan Chart.com

""There are large complex plots. We unravelled one, which caused damage to al-Qaeda, and the plots faded slightly. However, another great plot is building up again, which we are monitoring.

Every year, earthquakes cause thousands of deaths, either directly or due to the resulting tsunamis, landslides, fires, and famines.

230,000 (and perhaps as many as 290,000) people in 12 countries -- including about

168,000 in Indonesia alone were killed in the 2004 earthquake just off the west coast of the island of Sumatra, and the tsunami that followed.

More than 80,000 people were killed in the 2005 Pakistan earthquake.

More than 69,000 people died in the 2008 Sichuan China earthquake."--according to JeremiahProject.com

"...employees had glass-encapsulated microchips with miniature antennas embedded in their forearms...Microchips are now fixed to car windshields as toll-paying devices, on “contactless” payment cards (Chase’s “Blink,” or MasterCard’s “PayPass”). They’re embedded in Michelin tires, library books, passports, work uniforms, luggage, and, unbeknownst to many consumers, on a host of individual items, from Hewlett Packard printers to Sanyo TVs, at Wal-Mart and Best Buy...Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID...RFID, they warned, would soon enable the government to “frisk” citizens electronically - an invisible, undetectable search performed by readers posted at “hotspots” along roadsides and in pedestrian areas. It might even be used to squeal on employees while they worked; time spent at the water cooler, in the bathroom, in a designated smoking area could one day be broadcast, recorded and compiled in off-limits, company databases...the government or your employer might someday say, ‘Take a chip or starve'...The Bible tells us that God’s wrath will come to those who take the Mark of the Beast,” he says. Those who refuse to accept the Satanic chip “will be saved,” Wohlscheid offers"--according to RINF.com

It is truly fascinating to read and investigate the innumerable opinions of the differing sources regarding the Signs of the Times. For now, I am going to get back to my reality and attempt to forget most of it so that I can feel a little bit sane.

Who Owns America?

Who owns America? American has incurred extraordinary amounts of debt due to war, disaster relief, stimulus for the economy, the massive bailout, and along with other reasons (which I am sure includes the pork put into bills for things hidden from the American public). I take issue with that!

"The national debt clock, the unofficial tracker of the federal deficit maintained by the Durst Organization in New York, has reached its limits. Last month, as the national debt exceeded $10 trillion for the first time, the clock ran out of digits to record the number.

The dollar sign in the clock had to be deleted and replaced with a one to record the massive number. The clock’s owners say a new model — with space for two extra digits — will be in place early next year.

Now the debt clock will be able to reach the quadrillions. Hopefully, that’s not a level that will be breached any time soon. –Phil Izzo" --The Wall Street Journal, October 9, 2008

The debt of the entire Third World and developing nations is about $1.65 Trillion dollars. The debt, as of October 20, 2008 (since the same date in 1993) is equal to $10,464,889,644,552.18, according the Treasury Direct . gov
"“We had thought we would have a little more time,” said Douglas Durst, whose late father Seymour B. Durst, erected the sign in 1989, “We’re rewriting the software to deal with the current economic problems and are in the process of designing a new sign that will have more digits.”

The Durst Organization, a real estate firm, plans now to add two more digits to the clock. That means the debt clock could reach $999.9 trillion before it becomes obsolete -- that’s $999,999,999,999,999 in debt or about 100 times more than we have now."-Scott Mayerowitz, ABC News.com

The U.S. National Debt Clock

So, who owns America?

"Public owners include banks, private investors, pension funds, mutual fund companies, insurance companies, and state, local or foreign governments.

Government agencies holding the debt include the Social Security trust fund, Federal employee retirement funds, and other trust funds (transportation, housing, etc). Like any other investor, these government agencies earn interest on the bonds and treasury bills that they hold."--Cheryl Woodard, AskQuestions.org

Feeling a little bit anxious? I am. All of the money the U.S. government needs for programs and the economic stimulus and bailouts is going to come from me and you, the taxpayers.

"Many people don't understand how Wall Street works, but they can see that housing prices are tanking, food prices are rising and gas prices are soaring.

When that pot of gold also known as a retirement account starts to disappear down an economic black hole, it can be very unsettling.

This increased dread and anxiety makes some people behave in unhealthy ways"--Linda Petty, CNN

Zeitgeist. Amademajad. Obama. U.S. Freedoms Taken For Granted.

I've been thinking about "Zeitgeist", the movie. While I have written about it before, I have been running it through my mind lately with renewed perspective.

The actual definition of "Zeitgeist" as a word (according to Wikipedia) is

"...a German language expression literally translated: Zeit, time; Geist, spirit, meaning "the spirit of the age and its society". The word zeitgeist describes the intellectual, cultural, ethical and political climate of an era or also a trend. In German, the word has more layers of meaning than the English translation, including the fact that Zeitgeist can only be observed for past events.

"Zeitgeist" refers to the ethos of an identified group of people, that expresses a particular world view which is prevalent at a particular period of socio-cultural progression.

Zeitgeist is the experience of a dominant cultural climate that defines, particularly in Hegelian thinking, an era in the dialectical progression of a people or the world at large....

The spirits of individual nations are both the articulations (Gliederungen) of an organization and its realization. The spirits of individual nations represent a segment of the World Spirit out of which emerges the unlimited universal spirit. A comparison is introduced here between the status of an individual and that of a nation's spirit. In the process of his formation the individual undergoes various changes without, however, losing his identity. As a part of world history, a nation—exhibiting a certain trend expressed in its Volksgeist— plays its part in the total process of world history. But once it contributes its share to world history it can no longer play a role in the process of world history. The submersion in the total process prevents a people's cultural rebirth, because it has exhausted its creativity in the historical growth of its guiding spirit. It is for this reason that one of Hegel's disciples, Michelet, considered the idea of a renaissance of the Jewish people as philosophically impossible."

By reading this definition after watching and contemplating the movie, it is easy to see the correlation between many factors and the worlds clash of powers, movement toward war, and the movement toward socialism that our United States of American is progressing to in present day.

Another contemplation, when studying the definition of the word "Zeitgeist", is the realization that Mahmoud Amademajad, the Iranian President, calls the Nazi Holocaust of European Jewry a "myth".
"...one of Hegel's disciples, Michelet, considered the idea of a renaissance of the Jewish people as philosophically impossible.-Wikipedia"
"They have created a myth today that they call the massacre of the Jews and they consider it a principle above God, religions and the prophets,"
Amademajad said, when on live TV, he called for Europe or North American - even Alaska - to host a Jewish state, not the Middle East. This as reported by BBC News on December 14, 2005

When I recall the scene where a person is given a Holy Bible and then someone, evidently government related, drapes an American flag over the top, it brings me to our current issues that have been brought about during this Presidential Election. When it comes to religious freedom, or freedoms in general, I am afraid that Obama will likely take much of what we hold dear away, if he becomes the next U.S. President. You can see what he believes through his religious clergy, whom he has sought advice from and listened to sermons each week from, Reverend Wright. Racism, that 9/11 was orchestrated by our government. How could our government pull off such a big operation? It takes a complete meltdown of the economy for the government to even get together on any issue and attempt to solve any problems. What makes someone believe that the U.S. government could orchestrate 9/11 when it would either blab about it, and therefore "let the cat out of the bag", or screw it up completely.

"...once it [a nation] contributes its share to world history it can no longer play a role in the process of world history" - Wikipedia on "Zeitgeist"
It's funny that someone would think that American could no longer play a role in the process of world history. People will fight the pull toward a socialist nation once they understand the consequences. One of the freedoms we all hold dear, even those who are not religious, is that of worshiping how, where or what we want. When this nation's people find that they have to hide their religious works in order to read them, they will understand what they had been given by their forefathers. So, mock religion and/or Christianity all you want, as they do in the movie, but you will miss it when/if it disappears from plain sight.

Freedom of religion is a constitutional right.
Wikipedia Link - Click Here
"Freedom of religion is a guarantee by a government of freedom of belief for individuals and freedom of worship for individuals and groups. It is generally recognized to also include the freedom not to follow any religion. Freedom of religion is considered by many in many nations and people to be a fundamental human right."

"In a country with a state religion freedom of religion is generally considered to mean that the government permits religious practices of other sects besides the state religion, and does not persecute believers in other faiths."

While I respect the freedom of speech and that includes the anti-religious establishment language utilized throughout the Zeitgeist Movie, it blows my mind that, even those who are not believers in God, would choose to be so harsh.

Fear is definitely guiding our country at this time. Again, I don't give the U.S. government that much credit, as it could not stay on one campaign long enough to utilize a single resource, such as fear, to control its own people. I think that fear does move things to occur, such as the gigantic bailout voted in by our Democrat majority congress. As for fear being used in Zeitgeist the movie to move its viewers to a certain anti-establishment, anti-religion, anti-U.S. government opinion, yes it was used quite well. The way that the creators of Zeitgeist loop the separate devastating scenes together to create a constant barrage of violence and bloodshed very definitely creates a feeling of unrest, at the least.

Zeitgeist is definitely a creative work and it utilizes the Freedom of Speech, the Freedom of the Press, the Freedom of Religion, and other freedoms, stretching them to new levels. I guess this is an example of the utilization and acceptance of those freedoms in our daily lives. Once they are gone, those who create such works will definitely see that they were taking their freedoms for granted.

Rethinking Obama. I've Been Too Hard On Him.

With the coming of a new week and with the opportunity to vote early, I am mulling over this election in my mind.

I'm giving Obama another thought, wondering if I am too hard on the poor lad.

Sure, the economy is bad. That is why the polls are so much higher for Obama. He has no ties to the economy, where McCain is a Republican and therefore, McCain must be responsible. When Obama gets elected, he'll fix the economy for sure.

So, I wondered about whether I've been too hard on Obama regarding the Ayers relationship. Is it his fault that the guy is literally his neighbor? I am sure that he never talks to his neighbors, since he has obviously been to busy organizing the community. He probably doesn't even know that Ayers purchased the other half of the lot, making Obama's half more affordable. I bet that, when Obama went next door for the fundraiser, he had no idea that he was stepping foot into Ayers' home. I'm guessing that he just thought he had been cut a lucky break when the guy next door offered to have a fundraiser to launch Obama's political campaign. He probably just said, 'Wow. This guy next door, whom I don't know at all, is willing to jump start my career and earn me some cash.". I bet he was totally excited and didn't even cross paths with Ayers the whole time he was there.

What about the contributions he has reportedly received (the top second) from Fannie Mae? Oh, that must have been a type-o. He is going to fix the economy, so he must have nothing to do with the down-swing of the nation's economy. He isn't a Republican. Obama is a Democrat, which means he had nothing to do with anything along the lines of the bombing economy and the lack of cash in our pocketbooks. He has tons of wonderful programs that the government is going to take charge of for us. Surely, the money for those programs will come from some magic place and we won't have to pay for it out of our earnings. His idea to have much of our society taken over by the government sounds so great. The government never screws anything up.

Obama has nothing to do with the war in Iraq. After all, he is a Democrat. Of course, he made a mistake when he initially voted for the war. The poor guy. Things just happen. It's not because of anything he has done. He wouldn't vote for anything like the war in Iraq. When Obama becomes President, his desire to yank the U.S. out of Iraq is so perfect. So what if Iraq collapses under it's own government.

I think it would be great to have dialog with Iran. When Amademajad says that the U.S. and Israel should be wiped off the map, Obama should just talk.

'So sorry that you feel that way, Amademajad. Let's talk it over and find out if this rage comes from your relationship with your father.'

When Amademajad says that the Holocaust never happened and that the Jews made it up, Obama should just discuss it. What is the problem in that? When Amademajad says that the U.S. should be bombed with a nuclear bomb, Obama should just assume that he is having a bad day, go get him a cup of coffee and talk. After all, he is human and he will feel better about things once he has been able to talk them out. Yes, Obama's desire to have diplomatic discussions with Amademajad is so realistic and reasonable.

I admire Obama's desire to be Christian. Wright must be getting the shaft when people are discussing his views. Being Christ-like is a tricky thing. Of course, Wright never taught that being Christian means that you can be racist. Why would Obama sit and listen to that council. Wright must be teaching the correct views on Christianity. Obama certainly wouldn't tie himself with anyone who taught incorrect things about 9/11. I sure do admire someone who is acting like a true Christian.

I think that I've been too hard on Obama for sure. I know who I'm going to vote for now that I have mulled it over.

Sabbath Day, October 19, 2008

"29. Oh ye wicked and ye perverse generation; ye hardened and ye stiffnecked people, how long will ye suppose that the Lord will suffer you? Yea, how long will ye suffer yourselves to be led by foolish and blind eyes? Yea, how long will ye choose darkness rather than light?

30. Yea, behold, the anger of the Lord is already kindled against you; behold, he hath cursed the land because of your iniquity.

31. And behold, the time cometh that he curseth your riches, that they become slippery, that ye cannot hold them; and in the days of your poverty ye cannot retain them.

32. And in the days of your poverty ye shall cry unto the Lord; and in vain shall ye cry, for your desolation is already come upon you, and your destruction is made sure; and then shall ye weep and howl in that day, saith the Lord of Hosts. And then shall ye lament, and say;

33. O that I had repented, and...O that we had remembered the Lord our God in the day that he gave us our riches, and then they would not have become slippery that we could lose them; for behold, our riches are gone from us."

Migraines. Treatment and Prevention. Stop the Pain! Stop the Madness!

Migraine

wikipedia.org
"Migraine is a neurological syndrome characterized by altered bodily experiences, painful headaches, and nausea. It is a common condition which affects women more frequently than men.

The typical migraine headache is one-sided and pulsating, lasting 4 to 72 hours. Accompanying complaints are nausea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis). Approximately one third of people who experience migraines get a preceding aura, in which a patient may sense a strange light or unpleasant smell."

What have I taken this morning for my migraine (which, I am certain, was caused by eating chocolate last night while I was busy making chocolate spiders for the top of cupcakes)? Maxalt and one Excedrine Migraine.

What is Maxalt? Triptan
"Triptans. For many people with severe migraine attacks, triptans are the drug of choice. They are effective in relieving the pain, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound that are associated with migraines. Sumatriptan (Imitrex) was the first drug specifically developed to treat migraines. Related medications include rizatriptan (Maxalt), naratriptan (Amerge), zolmitriptan (Zomig), almotriptan (Axert), frovatriptan (Frova) and eletriptan (Relpax). Side effects of triptans include nausea, dizziness, muscle weakness and, rarely, stroke and heart attack. In recent studies, a single-tablet combination of sumatriptan and naproxen sodium relieved migraine symptoms more effectively than did either individual medication. This combination tablet will likely be marketed soon."

While this hasn't helped the nausea. The migraine pain is mostly under control and it only took about 1/2 hour for this combination of Maxalt and Excedrine Migraine to work.

I have the saliva test for my estrogen and other hormones. I have not felt well enough to take the hour that is necessary (before eating any food for the day) to complete the test. I am motivated to take the test...after all, it cost me over one hundred dollars and is not covered by health insurance. I just need to feel well enough to have the hour, when I have not eaten since the night before, and when I don't need to drink water to take something for a headache.

An additional remedy that I find very good is to stay busy on the computer (once the medications work well enough that my sensitivity to light, including the computer, is lessened) working on my writing, responding to my emails, working on my Facebook or other social networking sites, or just surfing the Net.

"Prevention
Whether or not you take preventive medications, you may benefit from lifestyle changes that can help reduce the number and severity of migraines. One or more of these suggestions may be helpful for you:

Avoid triggers. If certain foods seem to have triggered your headaches in the past, eat something else. If certain scents are a problem, try to avoid them. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress.

Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches.

Reduce the effects of estrogen. If you're a woman with migraines and estrogen seems to trigger or make your headaches worse, you may want to avoid or reduce the amount of medications you take that contain estrogen. These medications include birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy. Talk with your doctor about the best alternatives or dosages for you."

Might I also suggest a preventative measure...don't watch the news or read about what is going on in the world:)

Obama - The Destruction of the United States Constitution

"We are the change we seek." Nothing has been more eloquent and truthful if put into perspective. What change do we seek?

see this movie trailer

We are about to make history. Are we going to make the right change or are the people of the United States being wrongfully steered toward a good speaker, a rock star image, an image that is different than what has been in the White House, but without substance behind it that makes any sense to the U.S. or the world?

Why do people like Obama? He talks about tax credits and checks in the mail to American citizens when everyone is thinking about money and how they are going to pay for their bills and keep their homes.

"Facts About the Obama “Tax Refund”
On the stump and in debate, Senator Obama frequently trumpets that his economic plan would give 95 percent of all American workers a tax cut.

Here’s what this really means: Under Obama’s “Making Work Pay” plan, every worker would receive a $500 refundable tax credit, and every working couple would receive $1000.

Sounds good, right?

The key word here is “refundable.” According to the IRS, nearly one third of all tax filers– had zero tax liability after taking credits and deductions allowed by the IRS.

So what this really means is:

Under Obama’s proposal, these individuals - who have no tax liability - would receive a “tax cut” on taxes they never paid!

And guess who pays?

Is sending tax refund checks to people who already pay no taxes the right policy to encourage savings and work, or is it just another welfare program cleverly disguised as tax policy?

Some facts about just who would pay taxes under the Obama plan:

According to the nonpartisan Tax Foundation, 62 million Americans – about 43% of all tax filers – would have zero income tax liability. Under Sen tor Obama’s plan most of those non-taxpayers would get a check at tax time.
By calling these payouts “tax credits” and “tax cuts,” Obama has created focus-group friendly language that muddies the rhetorical waters and forces opponents to go on record against “lowering taxes.” The fact is, what Obama is advancing is wealth redistribution – sending tax dollars to people who pay no taxes, with higher-income (not wealthy) individuals footing the bill. "

Who Pays?

What is the definition of Capitalism?

"Capitalism is the economic system in which the means of production are owned by private persons, and operated for profit[1] and where investments, distribution, income, production and pricing of goods and services are predominantly determined through the operation of a free market[2], rather than by central economic planning. Capitalism is usually considered to involve the right of individuals and corporations to trade, incorporate, employ workers, and use money provided by central banks, in goods, services (including finance), labor and land.[2] In theory, production and distribution in a capitalist system are governed by the free market rather than state regulation,[3] with state action confined to defining and enforcing the basic rules of the market[4] though the state may provide a few basic public goods and infrastructure.[5] Classic unrestrained capitalism is confined mostly to theory today, as "all of the capitalistic societies of the West have mixed economies" with interventionist state regulation, social programs[6] and state ownership of some sectors."

See this article from 1993 in chicagomag.com.

"...The most effective minority voter registration drive in memory was the result of careful handiwork by Project Vote!, the local chapter of a not-for-profit national organization. "It was the most efficient campaign I have seen in my 20 years in politics," says Sam Burrell, alderman of the West Side's 29th Ward and a veteran of many registration drives."

"...At the head of this effort was a little-known 31-year-old African-American lawyer, community organizer, and writer: Barack Obama."

"Obama shrugs off the possibility of running for office. "Who knows?" he says. "But probably not immediately." He smiles. "Was that a sufficiently politic 'maybe'? My sincere answer is, I'll run if I feel I can accomplish more that way than agitating from the outside. I don't know if that's true right now. Let's wait and see what happens in 1993. If the politicians in place now at city and state levels respond to African-American voters' needs, we'll gladly work with and support them. If they don't, we'll work to replace them. That's the message I want Project Vote! to have sent."

Why don't people open their eyes and see that Obama is change...the change that will definitely change our country...the change that will cause our constitution to erode into the same dust our Founding Fathers are buried in. Don't people see that our country...this great United States of America...will become a socialist society if Obama is elected and put in the White House?

Obama-ACORN, ACORN-Obama

ACORN represents the Democratic Party and its desperate desire to own the White House through use of any means possible.

"Many states have passed laws that go beyond the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and require additional, unnecessary identification either at registration or voting. These restrictions hinder American citizens’ efforts to exercise their responsibility to participate in elections. These laws include requirements such as proof of citizenship, government-issued photo ID’s, any kind of photo ID, or a broad range of ID’s not necessarily including a photo."
--ACORN.org

Shouldn't the people of the United States be required to show an ID comparable to that which they would have to show at the store, driving a car, or any other privilege in the U.S.? If you are old enough to vote, you are old enough to drive, old enough to show ID for cigarettes, old enough to be in the military where the ID is critical, and old enough for other privileges, including that of voting during elections.

As we look at the United States and its money debt, shouldn't we look also at the debt in common sense, in honesty, in integrity, and in all other moral and ethical standards? ACORN is an entity that seems to have its own agenda for the country. Why would anyone want their affiliation to be extended to ACORN?

Well, in looking closer, although this should not surprise anyone who reads this, Obama has strong ties to ACORN. Although the Obama camp would like to keep distance from ACORN and say that Obama only worked on a lawsuit on behalf of ACORN in 1995, the connection runs much deeper.

ACORN is a key modern successor of the radical "New Left" 1960's organization. They are an organization hell-bend on entrenching America in their anti-capitalism agenda. Owning its roots to the National Welfare Rights Organization, they were disruptive from the word "go". Their initial desire was to create a "radical reconstruction of America's unjust capitalist economy" by removing eligibility restrictions on welfare causing the system to burst.

While those desires were based in the early years of ACORN's past, they are no less in-your-face today. Again, why would anyone want their affiliation to be extended to ACORN? Maybe that is why the Obama camp is attempting to down-play his affiliation to ACORN. However, with affiliations to Ayers, Wright, Hamas, and others, don't you think that, following being elected as the next President of the United States of America, Obama would revert to his old ways? Not only would he raise taxes and give rebates to people who dwell in this country who don't pay any taxes at all, he may even revert to the ACORN ways of municipal "living wage" laws, rolling back welfare reform, and regulating banks (veiled as combating "predatory lending").

Do we really want a socialist society? Obama's programs will create a society that is literally removed from most of its constitutional freedoms.

What is a socialist society? Wikipedia describes socialism as
"...a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society.[1][2] Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution which represents the transitional stage between capitalism and communism.

"Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly"

"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." --Obama, October 2008

"The truth is, in order to get things like Universal Health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more"

Wealth Redistribution - Obama's Presidential Goal

Who would have thought that the United States of America would become a socialist nation. Sure, many of our Nation's people are having hard times. However, is it the American dream that some of the Nation's people work hard for a living and pay out huge portions of their income to the government so it can go to the people in the nation who don't pay taxes? Maybe some people in this nation have that dream, but the majority, I'd wager cash, don't think of that as their American dream.

With Obama, his idea is as follows...
"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

"The truth is, in order to get things like Universal Health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more"
--Michelle Obama, April 8, 2008

So, are you willing to give up a piece of your pie? I work to darn hard for my pieces of pie to want to give it up to the government for redistribution...to become a socialist nation! This theory of redistribution makes success finite. In American, is success supposed to be finite?! Infinite success is the American dream I've always heard about.

Doesn't the government waste most of our "pie"? Why would we want to give more of our "pie" to the government to waste? If I want more pie, I don't want to have to give most of it to the government because I have worked hard for it. If other people don't want to work for their pie, they can do without as much as I have. That is not to say that I am selfish. I give at least 10% to charity. However, I do believe that you should have to work for your desert.

"The media, of course, is very aggressive about not caring, but the malaise seems to affect ordinary Americans as well."
--Bookworm

Please open your eyes America! See what is being presented for what it is! If you don't like Bush, you certainly will after electing Obama! If you think that the economy is bad now, just wait until you elect Obama! Were our Founding Fathers wrong in the constitution? Or, did they fight for these freedoms...the American dream...the right to have a dream...in vane?

Christians Targeted in India

Christians targeted: Families in India must convert to avoid death or expulsion
Families must convert to avoid death or expulsion

By Somini Sengupta
New York Times News Service
Published: Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 12:06 a.m. MDT

"BOREPANGA, India — The family of Solomon Digal was summoned by neighbors to what serves as a public square in front of the village tea shop.
They were ordered to get on their knees and bow before the portrait of a Hindu preacher. They were told to turn over their Bibles, hymnals and the two brightly colored calendar images of Christ that hung on their wall. Then, Digal, 45, a Christian since childhood, was forced to watch his Hindu neighbors set the items on fire.

"Embrace Hinduism, and your house will not be demolished," Digal recalled being told on that Wednesday afternoon in September. "Otherwise, you will be killed, or you will be thrown out of the village."

India, the world's most populous democracy and officially a secular nation, is today haunted by a stark assault on one of its fundamental freedoms. Here in eastern Orissa state, riven by six weeks of religious clashes, Christian families like the Digals say they are being forced to abandon their faith in exchange for their safety.

The forced conversions come amid widening attacks on Christians here and in at least five other states across the country, as India prepares for national elections next spring.

The clash of faiths has brought panic and destruction throughout these once quiet hamlets fed by paddy fields and jackfruit trees. Here in Kandhamal, the district that has been the location of the greatest violence, more than 30 people have been killed, 3,000 homes burned and more than 130 churches destroyed, including the tin-roofed Baptist prayer hall where the Digals worshipped. Today it is a heap of rubble on an empty field. where cows blithely graze.
India is no stranger to religious violence between Christians, who make up about 2 percent of the population, and India's Hindu-majority of 1.1 billion people. But this most recent spasm is the most intense in years.

It was set off, people here say, by the killing on Aug. 23 of a charismatic Hindu preacher, who for 40 years had rallied the area's people to choose Hinduism over Christianity.

The police have blamed Maoist guerrillas for the swami's killing. But Hindu radicals continue to hold Christians responsible.

Hate has been fed by economic tensions as well, as the government has categorized each tribe differently and given them different privileges."

Depression and the Economy

Can what you are feeling today be attributed to the U.S. economy? Are you feeling blue because of the Dow Jones numbers falling? Can your depression be attributed to the U.S. Presidential Elections and the negative politics between candidates?

Of course, the answer to the above questions is, yes. Multiple sources show that the heavy weight of just hearing about these major issues affects our general well being. Not only that, but the fact that many are being affected in more personal ways regarding their homes being foreclosed upon, their jobs being lost, their 401K depreciating in value, their pensions being lost, and on and on. If you are thriving in this economic crisis, making a profit on your home, getting an income raise, or otherwise flourishing, you are one of the lucky ones.

According to the Mayo Clinic symptoms of depression include:

Loss of interest in normal daily activities
Feeling sad or down
Feeling hopeless
Crying spells for no apparent reason
Problems sleeping
Trouble focusing or concentrating
Difficulty making decisions
Unintentional weight gain or loss
Irritability
Restlessness
Being easily annoyed
Feeling fatigued or weak
Feeling worthless
Loss of interest in sex
Thoughts of suicide or suicidal behavior
Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches

"Depression symptoms can vary greatly because different people experience depression in different ways. A 25-year-old man with depression may not have the same symptoms as a 70-year-old man, for instance. For some people, depression symptoms are so severe that it's obvious something isn't right. Others may feel generally miserable or unhappy without really knowing why."

What can you do to help yourself if you find that you have some of the symptoms of depression?

Obtain the right amount of sleep. Some people need 8-12 hours of sleep. Other people need only 6 hours of sleep. The most important thing is that you stay consistent in the time you go to bed and the time you wake up to keep your internal clock running correctly.

Seek appropriate and consistent exercise. Depending on your fitness level, exercise regularly and aerobically. A brisk walk outside will help your heart and your mind. You'll find that, by exercising regularly, you'll benefit your mind, your body, and possibly eventually even your pocketbook.

Avoid excess sugar and/or caffeine. These stimulants can cause you to "crash", or in other words, they can cause a "major downer" after you have the "high" from either of these two stimulants.

MayoClinic.com has great advice regarding prevention of depression that we could all follow closely in these turbulent times. "However, taking steps to control stress, to increase your resilience and to boost low self-esteem may help. Friendship and social support, especially in times of crisis, can help you weather rough spells. In addition, treatment at the earliest sign of a problem can help prevent depression from worsening. Long-term maintenance treatment also may help prevent a relapse of depression symptoms."

Complications can occur from depression. "Depression is a serious illness that can take a terrible toll on individuals and families. Untreated, depression can lead to a downward spiral of disability, dependency and suicide. Depression can result in severe emotional, behavioral, health and even legal and financial problems that affect every area of your life. Complications that depression may cause or be associated with include:

Suicide
Alcohol abuse
Substance abuse
Anxiety
Heart disease and other medical conditions
Work or school problems
Family conflicts
Relationship difficulties
Social isolation"

What can you do to cope with depression or with the signs of depression? "Coping with depression can be challenging. Depression makes it hard to engage in the behavior and activities that may help you feel better. Talk to your doctor or therapist about improving your coping skills, and consider these tips to cope with depression:

Simplify your life. Cut back on obligations when possible, and set reasonable schedules for goals.

Consider writing in a journal to express pain, anger, fear or other emotions.

Read reputable self-help books and consider talking about them to your doctor or therapist.

Don't become isolated. Try to participate in normal activities and get together with family or friends regularly.

Take care of yourself by eating a healthy diet and getting sufficient sleep.

Join a support group for people with depression so that you can connect to others facing similar challenges.

Stay focused on your goals. Recovery from depression is an ongoing process. Stay motivated by keeping your recovery goals in mind. Remind yourself that you're responsible for managing your illness and working toward your goals.

Learn relaxation and stress management. Try such stress reduction techniques as meditation, yoga or tai chi.

Heaven On Earth
by Natasha Call

Positive speaking becomes positive thinking.
Positive thinking becomes positive living.
Positive living becomes a positive legacy.

A Positive legacy becomes many who speak positively.

Many who speak positively becomes many who think positively.
Many who think positively becomes many who are living positively.
Many who are living positively becomes many who leave positive legacies.

Many positive legacies become world peace.
World peace becomes Heaven On Earth.

Today, more than ever, there are multiple ways to receive the messages sent out during LDS General Conference.

Many people are able to watch and listen to Conference in the comfort of their own homes. Others are able to watch Conference, via satellite, in their Stake Center or Chapel building. Additionally, Conference is available via the radio and the Internet.

Should you decide to access the Conference message via the Internet, here is the link. Click Here

LDS General Conference is an uplifting, rewarding experience for those who partake in the buffet that are the messages sent forth out of the mouths of those who give talks. This is an experience that should be sent forth among all of the people of the world, that no one should miss the messages of Jesus Christ, of His sacrifice and of the, surely near, Second Coming. These messages are of Hope, Faith, and Charity and would edify all who are in proximity.
